Overview

Between Lonesome and Texas is book 5 in the Lone Star Cowboys series, with returning characters from the first four books. Come join the Morris Springs family as they celebrate love, new babies, and new beginnings.

Blake Kaufman loves the rodeo, but without his best friends Cooper and Nick, he's finding life on the road a lonesome prospect. Most of all, though, he misses Mandy Wagner, much to his surprise. He's never really thought about settling down, and he doesn't think he could stay in one place for very long. But sometimes a man has to choose between being alone and footloose, and being with the one he loves.

Mandy Wagner wants a husband and a family. Blake is her first choice, but loving a man who is always on the road doesn't fit in with the idealized version of marriage she's created. Besides, she has responsibilities at home that won't let her pick up and follow Blake. Which is more important? Responsibility, or love? And then there's that secret she's kept for far too long…

Meet the Author

Tori Scott has been writing for as long as she can remember, from poems and plays in grade school to a featured Christmas romance for Woman's World magazine. Shortly after 9/11, her poem Freedom 911 was published in a local news paper and in a book of poems honoring the veterans and heroes. These days you'll find her penning novels and novellas, including her popular Lone Star Cowboys and Satisfaction series. Born and raised in Texas, she builds characters with true Texas spirit and grit.

When not writing, you'll find Tori on the back of her husband's Harley or driving across the country, looking for inspiration in the mountains, waterfalls, small towns, and back roads that make up this beautiful country.

Tori Scott just keeps getting better! Blake has been on the rode

Tori Scott just keeps getting better! Blake has been on the rodeo circuit for 10 years, becoming best friends with Cooper Saunders and Nick Jackson. Cooper and Nick have left the circuit and settled down in Morris Springs, Texas. Mandy works for Cooper and his wife Nancy and as with most of their employees is treated as part of the family. Mandy and Blake have a strong attraction to each other, but is it enough? Blake is torn, he loves the excitement of the rodeo and the travel, but something is missing. Can he stay in one place for any length of time or will he cut and run?

First I have to say I loved it, loved it, loved it. I think it

First I have to say I loved it, loved it, loved it. I think it will be one of my favorites of the series.

Tori Scott has an amazing ability to bring the reader into the moment that makes her books on level with any of the top authors. While her books are romance, she brings real life to them. This one did not have the suspense element of the others, but there was enough edge that I did not miss the mystery. I want everyone I know to share in the friendships I have made in the books. Thank goodness for rereading or I would miss them all terribly.

Between Lonesome and Texas is the story of Mandy and Blake. In addition to the growing romance between those two, we meet their families and discover that Mandy has a secret that she is afraid to share with her Blake or her friends on the ranch. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Blake makes a hard decision that he is afraid that Mandy and his buddies will not be able to respect; it shows the kind of man he really is. All of our friends are back with lots of news and their lives are full.

I am sad to discover that we are near the end of the series but thrilled that she is wrapping it up with a Christmas novella that she is working on right now. I cant wait for the Christmas novella and look forward to whatever comes next.
