One epic tale a real book lover wouldn't even dare to miss!

Between is the second installment of Crossroads Saga by Miss Mary Ting. If you love the first book then you'll love the second one even more because everything has been upgraded! More Romance, More Action, More Angst! I'm actually amazed at how Ms. Mary Ting wrote this book. The flow of the story is even better than the last one. It's even more exciting and a lot sexier. In here, we see how Claudia and Michael struggles because of their forbidden love. Knowing that they will be separated someday takes a toll on them and let's add up Austin, the sexy new Guardian Angel of Claudia who is crazy for her, and then there's Trinity, Michael's ex-girlfriend who wants him back and let's not forget the Fallens and Demons who wants Claudia's soul! Yup, this book is full craziness but the good kind of craziness that it won't let you stop reading it until you get to the last period and even then you'd want more! Claudia and Michaels's love in much more deeper in here. As I said more sexier encounters and more profound love can be felt while reading their interactions. It just makes me root for them more. The second installment would not disappoint the Claudia/Michael believers out there. This is one epic tale a real book lover wouldn't even dare to miss. It has everything in it, ROMANCE that would make you believe in the power of love, ACTION that could make your heart beat fast and ANGST that would make you want to pull your hair out and the biggest plus are the gorgeous beings with wings with whom you can't help but fall in love with. Mary Ting, is one amazing author who has the ability to write with so much heart that every word could be felt which captivates her readers!

Truly Beautiful Story!! Awesome!

Between was an amazing follow up to Crossroads. I felt such strong feelings with this book. The pain and sadness that Claudia felt with the loss of her Gamma and her love for Michael. Mary Ting has an amazing gift of truly making you feel with her characters.

The romance between Michael and Claudia is so sweet. They are such a cute couple! The story is written in such a way that you can just tell how much they love each other and it is worded so perfectly. And despite what I thought what I would feel when she had very slight feelings for Austin, I still liked him even though I am defiantly cheering for Michael. The secondary characters are superb! Davin is so funny with him trying to learn how to talk like a human. It’s so cute! And Vivian is the perfect friend. I don’t know why but, I really enjoyed Davin this time around. And he was so sweet to Michael during the end of the book.

The ending left me heartbroken on so many levels! I cried for Michael when he was forced into doing probably one of the hardest things in the world aside from killing Claudia. I was like NOOOO!! I won’t tell you what it was you have to actually read the book! Michael’s pain was so evident during that part. The blood seekers should also be an interesting twist. I can honestly say I have no idea what is going to happen. I hope there is a third book and that it comes out FAST! 5 stars!!

Between by Mary Ting was an even better read than its predecesso

Between by Mary Ting was an even better read than its predecessor, Crossroads!  It was wonderful to swept back into the story of Claudia, Michael, and the world of Angels.

Between dives into the story of how one of God’s first angels, Aliah, makes it his mission to get Claudia into his hands in order for him to break free from the Between, a placed described as the place between Heaven and Hell.  In order for him to complete this mission, he sends out various demons out onto Earth to snag Claudia, doing whatever it takes.

And let me just say, the various encounters that Claudia and her gang has with the different demons were very interesting to watch unfold.  As in Crossroads, and as I’ve stated before, author Mary Ting’s ability to describe the fight scenes were addictive.  The amount of descriptions involved in telling the story of these battles was done so well, and I once again found myself completely engrossed in the battle between good and evil, all for the special soul that Claudia has.

If you thought that there were many twists and turns in Crossroads, you better prepare yourself for the multiple plot twists and turns in Between.  It was a non-stop rollercoaster ride, with an ending that will literally break your heart.

We are once again privileged to witness the love that Michael has for Claudia.  I found him even more romantic in Crossroads, and really enjoyed how he embraced the human side in this installment.  But Michael was not the only sexy angel who had my attention.  Oh no dear readers, in Between, we get to see more of the uber sexy Austin.  Ohhhh Austin.  The bad boy that can only be tamed by Claudia.  How lucky is this girl to have two extremely sexy angels vying for her attention.

With all the smartassness of Austin, I really loved seeing his softer side, and seeing how his feelings for Claudia pour out in this book.   And let’s not forget Devin.  His sweet, fun, unforgettable character comes out again in full force.  His various one liners and antics had me smiling like a dork, and wanting to have my own Devin as a best friend.

Apart from being reintroduced to this special cast of characters, we are also meet some new characters.  And among these new characters, we also meet someone from Michael’s past.  Are you intrigued yet?  The mash-up of old characters and new characters worked perfectly together, and the direction in which Mary Ting is steering the book has me on edge and anxious to see what will happen next!

What do we have to look forward to in book 3?  The introduction of blood demons, to which I understand to be vampires!  Vampires and angels together in a story?  Yes please!  Love the way this is going!

Fans of the first book, Crossroads and angel reads will fall in love with the story of Michael and Claudia.  Definitely worth picking up, and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3, Beyond.

Once again, we find the heroine Claudia Emerson who is half human and half akin (part angel) fighting for her life and her existence within a world full of angels and demons who want her soul. In the second book of Mary Ting’s 'Crossroads' series, the book "Between" continues to follow the story of Claudia and her fight to stay alive in her now ever changing new world. And all the while, Claudia must continue to try and lead a normal life while protectors and guardians are sent to help guide her. With the help of her new angelic friends from the crossroads, and her guardian angel and forbidden love Michael, Claudia comes to terms with her past to fulfill her destiny.

Mary Ting’s follow up book "Between" is just as interesting and fascinating as her first book "Crossroads". I really liked how she has developed the plot between the angel and demons and good versus evil. I especially enjoyed reading about the continuing forbidden love story between Claudia and Michael. And for fans of Mary Ting’s "Crossroads", this book really does a great job of picking up where the first book left off. This book, this series, interweaves the two worlds perfectly and made me wish that I too had a guardian angel. Young adult teens and older people alike will really enjoy this wonderful book whether or not they believe in the supernatural, and in the world of angels and demons.

OH MY WINGS!!!! FANTASTIC!!!

Oh My Wings!!!!! What an awesome follow up to Crossroads. I absolutley LOVED this book. There is so much action and emotion throughout. I enjoyed getting to know some new characters, but really loved getting to hang out with my favorites. WOW!!! I have not felt such intense feelings in a long time for a book. I wanted to yell and scream during some parts and cried like a baby at others. I was sad when I finished it beacause I did not want it to end!! I really miss these people when I'm not reading about them. They are like my friends who I love and want to be around. And Michael, what can I say about him? I adore him!!
Mary is so talented and really makes you feel a part of the world you are reading about. I don't know how she does it but she conveys the emotions so strongly that I feel like I am standing right there next to my favorite angels. And I am so grateful to have this fantastic world to escape to!!!!!

Between is the second book in the Crossroads Saga, Micheal and Claudia are so in love, but they have so many obstacles in their way, they have new angels coming in to watch her and Claudia is finding out more about the Angels, but with one of the twelve fallen, he plans to use Claudia's soul so he can take over all control and destroy humanity itself. But Claudia is the one who will be able to destroy him, but will her heart be at peace to be able to do it, with the grief of losong her Gamma, and learning of Micheals ex, she may not have the strength to keep her mind and heart in balance to save her, her new family and all humans on earth.

Started where CrossRoads left off, I could not put it down and on the last chapter All I wanted to do was SCREAM NO, and CRY, I hope the Beyond will pick up and bring happiness back to the Angels.....

Mary Ting has done it once again with a very compelling book and it leaves so many possible openings for the future....

As much as I enjoyed the first book in the Crossroads saga, I enjoyed this second book even more! It was such a treat meeting up for a second time with my favorite characters from the previous book.

Again, the author didn’t disappoint. Aside from the eye-catching cover and the finer little details on the inside of the book, the reader can also look forward to the continued, heart-achingly sweet romance between Claudia and Michael, unforeseen plot twists, action-packed battle scenes, a host of new characters, and an ending that will leave you breathless and begging the author to hurry up with the next book in this saga. And that is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

An exquisitely crafted novel with beautiful settings, romantic tension and memorable characters with personal struggles, that crawls deep into your heart, “Between” is an extraordinary read that will have the reader reluctant to let go before getting to the very last page. Well done Mary Ting, for writing yet another book that I will be highly recommending to others, and which I simply couldn’t put down!

Between had me from the first page. When I finished Crossroads (the first book in the series) I could not wait to read Between. I was into this book.

It has action, forbidden love, humor, heartache, suspense all the things that make a good story come to life.
To me there were more details in this book than in book 1. But do not get me wrong, the first book was amazing, but this one took the icing on the cake for a great second book.

Mary Ting, brings back the same characters as in book 1 Crossroads, and adds some new characters into the mix. You get to know a little about each character, and fall in love yourself.

In this book we the readers see the love blossom more between Michael and Claudia only to take its toll on them both, because they both know they can never truly be together. It is forbidden. Throw into the mix Austin who you can tell deeply cares for Claudia and then Trinity (new character) who still has love for Michael. The demons and fallen are still after Claudia's soul, which she can only give freely. This book has everything to make a book a great book. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I surely would.


My favorite character I would have to say is Davin every time he would say something in the book I would just have to chuckle to myself, he is such a funny guy and a sweetheart.

I got a bit teary-eyed reading this book, I could not believe what was happening, even though I knew it had to happen. I felt so sad for both of the main characters, but I do hope there is a third book in this series. Because now I want to know what is going to happen to Claudia, Michael, Austin, Davin. Mary Ting you have me hooked. :D

LOVE IT!

This book was so good! Both of the books in the saga are so sweet. It's funny how teen love stories still swoop you up when you're not a young girl anymore!

My review:

Between by Mary Ting is a second book in The Crossroads Saga and it starts out where Crossroads ends. I was delighted by Crossroads and was very happy that I could continue reading Between right after finishing Crossroads. It’s always interesting to see, how the author is developing the story and if the author is capable of living up to the expectations. My expectations were very high because I really loved Crossroads.

Mary Ting met my expectations and I would even say that with Between she exceeded my expectations. Between was not only a very good book, it was also very emotional reading for me. Between is a book about friendship, love, betrayal, making difficult choices – things what most of the people have experienced. Mary gave all these words an uplifted and emotional meaning. I laughed, I cried - I felt everything what she wrote with raw emotions and that means in my book that Between was written with the author’s heart and soul. It was written with feelings.

Regarding the plot:

After the fallen and evil was destroyed in the first book, Claudia starts to explore her powers and is frustrated about feeling so week amongst her friends from the Crossroads. Her friends from Crossroads are coming to visit her again and she sees Michael again.

After Patty’s birthday, something unexpected happens and Claudia is kidnapped by Austin. She is surprised to find out who Austin really is and what his connection to Gamma is. She finds herself on the Island of Eden, where Austin lives together with other venators – demon killers. Austin is following the orders of Divine Elders and is appointed to be Claudia’s guardian angel instead of Michael.

The Royal Council has decided that they will use Claudia as bait to get to Aliah – one the first angels who is fallen and needs Claudia’s soul to regain his powers. Aliah is old, strong and very dangerous.

The relationship between Michael and Claudia is getting more complicated when Austin shows his interest in Claudia and a woman in Michael’s part is brought into the Austin’s team. Michael and Claudia need to learn how to trust each other.

I have to say, that the plot was brilliant. The ending of the book was very emotional for me to read. It was unfair, sad, and I felt heartbroken. I wanted to change it, I wanted to scream! At the same time the author built up tension for the next book, and left a lot of hope to the readers and that made the ending of the book bearable for me. The author knew exactly what she was doing and that’s the pure beauty of it. There were lots of loose ends and questions which remained unanswered. I am sure, that the answers will come in the sequel.

Regarding the characters:

I was little frustrated about Claudia in this book. I truly like her character, but I was annoyed that she had a weakness for Austin. Besides that I wanted her to stand up for the Royal Council and put them to their place. I hope that she will eventually have the strength and powers to do that.

Michael was put into unbearable situation. I felt for him when he had to make a decision about Claudia. I do understand why he did that, but I wished that he would stand up for their love and their rights. I think that in the sequel he will do that when the time is right, he just has to.

I was devastated by the fact, that alkins couldn’t do anything to change the decision of The Royal Council. The only one of them, who expressed his thoughts and anger, was Davin. Davin is truly my hero in this book! I really enjoyed all the scenes with the alkins: Michael, Davin, Vivian and Caleb, but Davin was the only one who firstly spoke up about the unfairness of the situation and secondly supported Michael on his most difficult moments and what is even more important - gave him hope! I would love to have a friend like Davin. He is my favorite character in Between.

Austin is a mixed character for me. I have a love/hate relationship with him in Between. There are things what you can admire about him and then he can be so annoying you just want to kick him. At the end he does the right thing though. He is cocky, arrogant, and feisty - and then suddenly you realize, that he is not that bad after all.

Generally:

Between by Mary Ting was an awesome read and a very good sequel in the Crossroads Saga. Between blew me away, it took me to the Crossroads world where I forgot about everybody and everything and when I finished the book, I wanted more!

Another wonderful book by Mary Ting! It is a great sequel to Crossroads. It picks up right where Crossroads left off. I could not stop reading it! You get so swooped up in the story that you don't want it to end. The romance and humor is just wonderful. Warning: you will want some tissues when you read it.

Great sequel to Crossroads!

Between was a great sequel to Crossroads! It held my interest throughout and had some really great twists and surprises. I have to admit that the ending made me cry quite a bit, but I know Mary Ting will not disappoint in her next book! I can't wait to hear more about the blood seekers! Great parallel to the Embrace series!!

If you don't read this book you're definitely missing out! Mary Ting did it again! This book kept on on the edge and it also made me cry. But i'm hopefull that the next book she will bring the two of them together again somehow.

Mary Ting has done it again! She has written a beautifully romantic and suspenseful tale of forbidden love. Micheal and Claudia's passion in Between will leave you breathless and wanting more.


Seriously-- Between blew me away! If you thought Crossroads was a roller coaster of emotions just wait until you read Between. The romance, lust, betrayal, action and heartache that I loved in Crossroads just got bigger and better in Between.


Mary Ting has really stepped up her writing as well, I felt like everything flowed better and the dialogue felt more real. I loved that there were more details in Between as they really helped me as a reader experience the world and lives of the angels. As dreamy as Micheal is I found myself liking Austin more and more. I love how into Claudia Micheal is, but sometimes it feels a little over the top and Austin just seems a bit more real to me. The supporting characters really shine and I can't wait to find out where Ting will take us in the next book. If you loved or even just liked Crossroads you are going to go crazy over Between!

A real tear jerker

Between by Mary Ting “Between” continues the love saga of Claudia and Michael. And what a love story it is. A love that is pure, selfless and true between two beings so perfect for each other. Mary Ting brings the trials of true love to the forefront with her well written spell of Claudia’s and Michael’s devotion, dedication and desire for each other. As with all love stories, there are the forces against them and “Between” does not fail to provide an abundance of obstacles to the ill fated lovers. Be prepared for a ride of betrayals, romance, danger, battles, action, friendship, heartache and death. We follow Claudia’s journey to fulfilling her destiny and her new found powers and abilities. “Between” opens new explanations, beings, places, dimensions and loves. Unexpected twists and turns bring out the humane side of the beings in way that make tears stream down your face. I fell in love all over again. Mary Ting has done it again and now I simply can’t wait for the third installment of this saga. Bring out the tissues as this makes for a good cry.
