Overview

The repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell didn’t come soon enough for Gunther “Gunny” Duchene and Macalister “Mac” Jones, career US Marines who met at boot camp in the 1990s. They’ve been somewhere between best friends and lovers in peacetime and wartime both, but as the clock ticks toward Mac’s and Gunny’s retirements, the guys have much more to worry about than coming out.

Whether their relationship will survive outside of the closet they’ve had to shove it into for over two decades is a big question mark. Gunny questions why a hot military man like Mac—who could get any guy he wanted, including a younger, sexier one—would want him. But as Gunny and Mac navigate emotional waters as choppy as any they saw on duty, they just might learn Semper Fi applies to more than their careers.

Gunny and Mac's story is a compelling and steamy book. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm ordering the rest because this one was so excellent.

What an amazing story of two career military men about to retire just when DADT is being repealed. Both men went through boot camp together, and minus a couple of years has managed to stay together for twenty two years, hiding there biggest secret. Mac wants to tell the world, he’s tired of hiding and now that they are a couple of months away he’s finding it harder and harder. Gunny is a lot more reserved. He also is tired of hiding but he understands what will happen, or what he thinks will happen. This gives us a snap shot into the lives of these forty something men having to come out to their families, friends and Core. Also two each other, going from best friends to what, Will they want each other now the Male Ocean is open? The heartache they feel, the joy, the tension. Just WOW! I’ve listen to a lot of audio books and I’m not sure why I’ve not heard Jonathan Young before, but he did a brilliant job with these book and these characters. Just the right amount of emotion at the end during the speech, the female characters, all perfect. Book 5 Narrator 5 All over 5 I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews
