First off, The Wire is one of the best shows that I have seen in a long time. The music goes without saying that it fits like a glove. Every song that is picked for this soundtrack conveys every feeling and emotion by the characters in this beloved show. This soundtrack will make you want to get your groove on and the dance the night away. The second sound track that came out from the Wire is astonishing in its scope and breath of the musical songs that were chosen. If you get a chance, take a listen. It is well worth the listen.
