Overview

She's the heart of O'Kane liquor.

For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey-and the money-flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she's tired of being everyone's baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O'Kane brothers. But she never thought she'd meet him in the middle of a war.

He's the brains of the revolution.

War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors' successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn't have time for distractions-especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa.

Opposites don't just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they've always known. But this is war-deadly, bloody war-and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden.

Beyond Surrender was awesome! Sorry the series is ending but glad for the new series going to be starting soon. Feel like I'm losing a book family but going to get a new family can't wait. Best story I've read in a long time.

I really liked the end, I cried for Flash and she almost had me Dallas. This was the best ending for a great series. For anyone reading this and don't like sex in books don't even start it. For me the sex was just like the O'Kanes raw and free. O'Kanes for life.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Oh My God...what an extraordinary ending!! I don't know if I can do this book (or series) justice, but I'm going to try to put my thoughts into words. Beyond Surrender is the last of the Beyond series and it centers around the impending war between the sectors and the all-powerful Eden. This series tells a story beautifully of how the O'Kane gang live and love each other, and how they stand together against all odds to fight for what they believe in. In Beyond Surrender we get a very sweet romance between Ryder and Nessa, but I felt the true story was about how much freedom costs and how powerful love, family, and the right to choose your own destiny can be. This book was full of heart pounding action and heart wrenching sadness. There were times that tears were streaming down my face and then times of pure joy for these characters I have grown to love so much. At the end though, it was all love. That's the true heart of this series. I'm excited about the future with "Gideon's Riders" and I cannot wait to read more about Ashwin and Kora. It was one of my favorite parts when they were featured. I'm so sad to see the Beyond series end, but I know we'll still see them again from time to time, and I think their stories were told masterfully and I'm fully satisfied with how it ended. This is a MUST READ series!!

What a way to end the series and set up the next one. This story had everything you could ask for and more and even though I am sad to see the series end, what a way to end it. This instalment focused on Nessa and Ryder story, Nessa who was off limits for most of the series and Ryder the new leader of sector five a man and man who is definitely in charge. I loved how well Nessa and Ryder fit together as a couple they really were made for each other. This story completes the main overall story arc of the war between Eden and the outside sectors and has plenty of catching up with previous characters. The writing was fantastic, the whole storytelling across all the books is simply amazing and well structured. There was emotional highs and lows and everything you have come to expect from a Kit Rocha novel with some smoking hot sex scenes along the way. This book was simply one of the best reads of the year so far

This was a great ending to the series. I wish there was more interaction between Nessa and Ryder but there's only so many pages to a book. Looking forward to Gideons Riders. Should be very interesting and fun to have a new series that connects to 4, but will be so different.

What can I say…I always have mixed feelings when I get to the end of a series. I really want to know what happens and how things wrap up but on the other hand, I don’t want it to be over. Beyond Surrender, the ninth book in the Beyond series by Kit Rocha, had the same reaction from me. I was both excited and a bit apprehensive when I got the ARC for review. Beyond Surrender focuses on Nessa and Ryder and the story actually starts with these two characters. I have to admit I was on the fence with these two being the main focus for this story but I thought Rocha did a good job with them. The only issue I have is that it felt like things were rushed with them. In previous books it felt like the main romantic characters had more time. Perhaps this was due to the war going on but I wanted to have more time with these characters together. As characters go, I still don’t know how I feel about them. Nessa came off as flighty (except when it came to making the alcohol) and I still don’t know much about Ryder…except that he is smart and has been preparing for war his whole life. The key to this book (for me) was the war that was going on and how the sectors were coming together to fight Eden. I loved how everything was finally coming together and the sectors were working against everything Eden and the power hungry leaders were fighting for. As Eden continued to lie and take advantage of the people living within the walls, the sectors were trying to figure out how to beat them without extra casualties. When everything comes to a head and Dallas and Lex decide they need to make their move, everything moves really quickly. There are some casualties in this final book and I have to say, I was a bit nervous when things started to go down. I had no idea who was going to make it and who wasn’t. I won’t say much about this because I don’t want to ruin anything but trust me when I say…if you are invested in any of the core characters, be prepared. A lot goes down in the end and while the final fight is big and bloody, the goal was clear for everyone, no matter what happened. As the end draws near, ending the corruption in Eden is everyone’s goal and Ryder is going to make that happen no matter what. In the end, I was happy to see how Rocha ended this series. With that in mind, I was glad to hear that Ashwin is going to be the first character for the Gideon’s Riders series. He is a character that has intrigued me since his introduction and I can’t wait to know more about him. Those of you who have not yet started this series…get to it. I thought later books were more tame in the romance/erotica aspect but the overall story of the conflict between Eden and the Sectors never wavered and I enjoyed this series quite a bit. If you’re looking for something in the dystopian genre but geared toward adults, you should check these books out.

This was the most intense book I have read in YEARS! LORD!! I always knew that all the main characters were going to get a book, but this was BEYOND just a book. This was BEYONE closure to Sector Four. Beyond Surrender will open your eyes to new beginnings - Fill you with hope of what could be... then shatter you into a million tiny pieces - Only to build you up again and make you feel whole. ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT WRITING AND STROY TELLING

Beyond Surrender is the ninth and final novel in the erotic dystopian Beyond series. It’s the end of a long story arc that began in Beyond Shame, and shouldn’t be read as a standalone as it starts without much preamble and dives headlong into the current tense situation from the very first page. Where the earlier stories have been about the hard living, sexually free O’Kane extended family making the most of their time together, playtime is definitely over. This story leads the reader on a roller coaster of emotions from laughter to tears as the world the O’Kanes know is forever changed. War has come to Sector 4 and all of the major characters are present in this climactic and exciting concluding story. It features the romance between Nessa, instrumental to the O'Kane family as the distiller of their highly prized alcohol and Ryder, the current leader of Sector 5 who has been gearing up for the war between Eden and the sectors his whole life. Their romance is a little different than others in previous books, a slow and sensual eroticism that keeps their intimacy private, as opposed to the more public sexual excesses of the other O'Kanes. Things take some pretty dramatic and violent turns as Eden sends its soldiers out to the various Sectors and Dallas and his people make plans to counter those attacks with assaults of their own. Much of the action takes place in Sector 4, Sector 5 and Eden itself. No one escapes unscathed in this story, and there are moments that will bring the reader to tears. The story is told, as expected, from the points of view of Ryder and Nessa, but several other characters also get a chapter here and there in which to show the effect of events on other members of the O’Kane family. We also hear from some newer characters. In the past, this has been done as a way to introduce new individuals into the series who eventually ended up getting stories of their own. There is a post war spin-off series in the works that will be set in Sector 1 and it’s quite likely that these new characters – as well as some that have popped up here and there in previous books but have unresolved storylines – will end up in Sector 1. But make no mistake, the story arc that began with Beyond Shame is definitely finished with Beyond Surrender. The fate of Dallas O’Kane and the men and women loyal to him is decided in this explosive finale and it’s an ending that is worthy of the series.

This series is edgy, hot, sexy, violent, dangerous and this last book is all that and more. I was even sad, almost cried a few times. Beyond Surrender is the end of a long journey for the O'kanes and not just them the people in all the Eden. They finally get what they been wanting the whole time......freedom. The love story in this book is about 2 very strong characters that don't really need or want anyone but they find it anyways with eachother. Nessa and Ryder are pefect for eachother. I don't wanna give anything away, so just read the book, hell read the whole series again. You will not be disappointed. Kit Rocha has created a world that is everything your nightmares are made of and yet its everything your wildest dreams are too. Thank you ladies! I can't wait for the next series. Okane for life!

I have been waiting for Beyond Surrender with both apprehension and excitement. I fell in love with this world. Every character and their story drew me farther in and endeared themselves to me. So, I was naturally dreading the end of the series. Wow. Kit Rocha has once again proven that they are an amazingly talented duo. 5 stars. I loved Nessa and Ryder's story. I went through a wealth of emotions while reading this. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath with worry. It was all that I imagined the final book being, and more. As sad as I am for this storyline being finished, I am grateful that we got an amazing finale for one of the best series out there. One click this and you won't be disappointed. If you are new to Kit Rocha, start with Beyond Shame and you will not regret it.

I read this last book in the Beyond series with a bit of sadness, and wishing good endings for all the characters I’ve read about with affection. Unfortunately, not everyone gets their HEA, and we feel the pain of the O’Kane family as they learn to live with that reality. Above all, The Beyond Series is just a great story/saga! That’s what kept me coming back, hungry for more about the characters with each new book and novella. With all the darkness of the story's dystopian world, and all varieties of kink the characters use to express their freedoms, these are people who care about each other and sacrifice all that they have to keep their freedoms. This last book shows us how the tensions with Eden are resolved. As you would expect from the other books in the series, the resolution is not neat and clean, but it does set the stage for new beginnings. We’re also treated to Ryder and Nessa’s story. Nessa has been a bit of a mystery up to now, and reading about how she came to Sector 4 helped to explain why the O’Kane’s have been so protective of her. I’ve been hooked since the first book, because the story is that good. I’m looking forward to rereading the entire series again, from beginning to end. It Rocha makes that easier now by providing the entire series in a discounted set that I highly recommend. I look forward to reading the related Gideon series, happy to know that the great stories will continue!

*sigh* I was both so excited and extremely sad to read this book. I have fallen so head over heels in love with the O'Kane's that saying goodbye is like losing a best friend, or a lover. In Beyond Surrender, we finally get to see what will happen when Nessa and Ryder combine dreams and reality, spontaneity and careful planning, heart and brains. I absolutely LOVE Nessa. Her impulses and the way that she falls in love with so many things so hard and fast speaks to me so much because I am exactly the same way. I love the fact that we finally got to know her in this story, and that the war with Eden and the story with Nessa and Ryder fit so perfectly together. I cried. I'll admit it. I think I cried 4 times during this book. This was a perfect wrap up. I want more. I do. But even so, I'm content with how this series ended. O'Kane for life.

I was sent a digital ARC of this book in exchange for a review. This has got to be one of the hardest reviews I've had to write in a while. I haven't has this tough of a time getting myself to give my thoughts on a book since I read Thirteen by Kelley Armstrong. Why is this so difficult?- you might be curious about, well, simply put- this is the final part to a 9 book 3 novella series that I've been so invested in for like five years. Ever since I won Beyond Shame in a Goodreads giveaway and was completely intimidated by the concept because it was my first time venturing into books that could typically would be listed under 'erotica' (I will not be referring to this series as such because, like I say in all my reviews, while there is a lot of sex, and it's written graphically this series is about more than that.) Saying goodbye to these characters, at least in this context, has been extremely difficult, and if it weren't for the impending release date I would have continued to push off reading it just so it wouldn't have to end just yet. Now,I'm quite a ways into this review already, and I still haven't mentioned my thoughts. Don't worry, they're coming, but first, for those of you who need an extra boost of excitement for the release, here's a little blurb to get you going. She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor. For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she’s tired of being everyone’s baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O’Kane brothers. But she never thought she’d meet him in the middle of a war. He’s the brains of the revolution. War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors’ successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn’t have time for distractions—especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa. Opposites don’t just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they’ve always known. But this is war—deadly, bloody war—and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden. Okay, so onto what I thought. The short answer: I loved it. It was fast paced and wrapped up this world that has been falling apart in the best and most believable way possible for a dystopian book. The long answer: While did thoroughly enjoy the book, I felt like it suffered the accelerated relationship curse that has plagued the last few installments. Nessa and Ryder meet and boom, right away they're a thing. Not much build-up, and they get to know each other when they're already as close to an item as the couples in these books ever are at the beginning of the stories. We as readers don't know much about Ryder when he bursts into the story, and that would work, if the book was only told from Nessa's perspective, but it's not. Ryder gets a POV too, so us not knowing much about him doesn't make a lot of sense. Also, without getting into specifics and spoilers, the medical developments in this world don't make much sense to me at times, they have all of these high grade ways to patch people up in a matter of hours, but other things, which are super high tech when they are working seem like they can just dissipate into nothingness when they're not being implemented. lik

Five stars are just not enough for this, the final book in the Beyond series!!! I can't believe it's over!!! And let me tell you, I cried several times!!! WOW!!! First of all, I have to say, if you are reading this book then you should know that this book is NOT A STAND ALONE!!!!! If you haven't read the rest of the series then STOP NOW!!!! Go back and read the first eight novels and three novellas!!! And know that they are worth every single cent you spend on them!!!! This is the ONLY post-apocalyptic series I read (until Gideon's Riders comes out) and it is one of the very best series I have ever read!!! Now, on to the review. This book focuses on Nessa and Ryder, as well as the war. But it touches on all the characters we have fallen in love with over the last three years. Nessa, the O'Kane princess! Everyone's little sister! Pampered and protected, and more lonely than anyone knows. Their story is a bit bumpy at times, after all there is a war brewing and Ryder has been raised to believe nothing is more important than bringing down Eden. But it is a story that is just as worthy of being told as every story Kit Rocha ever told. And that is all I am going to say. Because I don't give spoilers and everything else I can think of would give something away. This story was well worth the wait!!!!!

I'm so sad to see this amazing series come to an end, but I'm also thankful that we are getting a spin-off series for Sector 1 so I don't have to totally say goodbye yet. When you find a series as great as this one is, you never want it to end. But things have come full circle for the O'Kanes, so it's time to move into a new Sector. I'm not going to spoil anything for you guys, but so many things happened during Beyond Surrender!!! I found myself laughing, crying, cheering, and truly understanding just what it means to be an O'Kane. You see, it isn't so simple as people blindly following Dallas as their leader just because he is the leader. He inspires so much more than that. He attracts the strong and supports the weak, and it inspires a kind of loyalty stronger than anything Eden can throw at them...and they are determined to make him fall so they throw a lot at all of them. There were a few moments in Beyond Surrender that had me ugly crying, it was bad guys, but there were also some moments that were bittersweet and some, much to my delight, that were so pure O'Kane it left me needing to fan myself off because they were just that hot. With so much going on in the Sectors it could be easy for the love story in this book to be overshadowed, but it was incredibly well balanced with love, action, suspense, mystery, and the innate sexuality that surrounds these O'Kanes. Our heroine, Nessa, has always been in the background throughout the entire series, and she has been just like a little sister to all of the O'Kanes. I was curious, given their lifestyle that extends beyond the bedroom, just how Nessa could fit into that when she found her match in Ryder. Not giving anything away, but I think it worked out perfectly and Ryder was exactly what Nessa needed after being surrounded by strong men all of her life. Ryder has a lot of hidden depths to him that I found vastly appealing. He has been preparing for this war his entire life, so it was interesting and heartwarming when he found himself finding something, or someone, he wanted more than the destruction of Eden. Together these two were a great pairing that balanced one another seamlessly despite all that is going on around them, and I really enjoyed their story. Overall, this book was everything I expected and so much more. Dallas not only has the loyalty of the Sectors, but he also inspires loyalty in readers, too. The whole O'Kane clan holds a very special place in my heart, and I admire how they all do more than just survive...they live and that is the most important thing you can take away from this series. How to truly embrace life and live it. O'Kane for Life! **Note** Do yourself a favor and start from the beginning if you haven't read all of the books yet, because this book is NOT a standalone.

The final book in the bestselling, award-winning series... She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor. For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Review: This is bittersweet for me. I have loved this series from the beginning and I am sad to see this series end, but excited for Gideon's Riders to begin. I am going to give a spoiler free review, at least do my best. I am going to start with go back and start at book one if you have not done so. They build on each other and for maximum enjoyment of the story they should be read in order. I was so tense before and during reading this book. I know war was coming and I knew people would get hurt. I so did not want to lose any of those characters I cam to love. Alas, there is loss. But there is hope, love and new beginnings to help deal with those lost in this book. Nessa was the perfect ending for the series. Loved her and Ryder together. They are both not quite like the others and thought they were a perfect sexy, caring couple. Well, without giving away the story or important parts let me say this... This is the excellent ending to one of my favorite series and the Author's did it justice beautifully. Goodbye my O'Kanes! O'KANE FOREVER! 5Stars *I read an advance reader copy of this book provided by the Author's*

If you're new to Kit Rocha and the Beyond books, please, oh please, don't start here. This is, in fact, the last book in the series and it doesn't stand alone. Go back and start from the beginning. The entire series is a well written, wonderful ride that's well worth your time. That said, if you've been with the O'Kanes through the previous books, welcome to the end: war is here, and Nessa and Ryder are trying to find love and a future amidst the chaos. Nessa's sass and relative innocence and Ryder's stoic focus are fun together. Because Nessa has been with Dallas from the beginning, and Ryder is still an outsider, it's interesting to see their different perspectives on the people and culture of Sector 4. I struggled with this book, torn between wanting to devour it in one huge bite and wanting to slow down and savor every line and nuance of it, dragging out the reading as long as possible. Be warned that this book isn't the light-hearted read of some of the earlier ones in the series. It's not an easy book; it carries all the gritty weight of the war between the sectors and Eden. I cried. A lot. Yes, you get your butterflies and love story, but you get them amidst heartbreak and the horror of war. That said, I think this was exactly the book needed to finish out the series, and kudos to Kit for writing it so unflinchingly. I can't wait to see read the spin-off series, Gideon's Riders. Note: I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. (But I love the author and this series and would have bought the book anyway!)
