Overview

Readers fell in love with Angela, Maddie, and Zoe, the three great friends who shared their ups and downs in ttyl, ttfn, and l8r, g8r. Now readers get to chronicle their own BFF experiences as they fill out the quizzes, questionnaires, and lists in this fun, interactive companion to the series. Together, friends can figure out which character they most resemble, cast the movie of their lives, and make promises to their adult selves. (“I hereby officially swear I will never ever EVER wear ‘mom jeans,’ so help me God. And if I do, I will have to eat my own shoe.”) Perfect for a car trip or sleepover, this book will provide as many laughs and blush-worthy opportunities for reflection as the series that inspired it.

Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Lynne Farrell Stover
This companion book to the Internet Girls series finds outgoing Angela, reserved Zoe, and wild-child Maddie inviting the reader to interact with them as they discuss life's pleasures and problems. Full of fill-in-the-blank questionnaires, crazy quizzes, interesting lists, and serious surveys, the book follows the three friends as they approach the process of growing up in today's wacky world with curiosity and caution. The friends talk about normal girl topics—boyfriends, swimsuits, boys' underwear, vampires, and Valentine's Day—however, they do not neglect the scary subjects, such as drugs, birth control, abusive relationships, and body piercing. Respecting each other's opinions, the dialogue between the three friends is snappy, insightful, and nonjudgmental. Written as an ongoing Internet chat, the three BFF's (best friends forever) communication consists of popular text messaging abbreviations and acronyms. Each girl's message is written in a unique font that helps identify who is speaking. Although the author's writing style is trendy, some cultural references are dated. Will the young reader know the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's or recognize the iconic Mae West, Brigitte Bardot, or Alfred Hitchcock? More of an interactive entertainment device than a novel to be read solitarily, this book would serve as catalyst for both silliness and serious dialogue on road trips, slumber parties, and discussion groups.
