This is probably one of the best translations of the Bhagavad Gita around as well as one of the finest editions in the English language. It is proceded by a lengthy, lucid, well-written introduction explaining the Gita and Hindu thought; the text concludes with a section of annotations to the text for terms, concepts, and persons that need further clarification for those not fully familiar to the Hindu world. This English-language only text is printed on acid-free paper and clothbound. The blue pigment of the cloth comes off to moisture - the only drawback to this otherwise fine edition. This translation is one of the more readily understandable ones. Reality will be made apparent after reading this important text. I have had this particular edition with me for five years, and it still accompanies me by my bedside along with other evening reading favourites. Was this review helpful?
