For anyone interested in reading a translation of the Bhagavad Gita, this is the place to start. Isherwood deftly translates the profound philosophical themes without compromising the integrity of this scared and ancient language. He shows a tremendous amount of respect for an epic that is too often simplified for western standards. There is also a brilliant forward by Aldous Huxley on the 'Perennial Philosophy,' which beautifully links the foundations of the world's major religions.
