I am thrilled that I could imprt my existing OliveTree library. This app synced my prior purchases from when I used my smartphone for a reference tool at pastors' group study. Bought years ago, this app downloaded my NRSV, Hebrew Old Testament, Greek New Testament, and Septuagint. Of course you do not need to be a schlar to find this useful. Devotional books amd many different translations make this a resource for all stripes. The free app includes an easily navigated KJV with notes - much preferred to any ebook Bible, of which I already have many to archive now. If you find the learning curve steep at first, that is because this is far more than a book. It offers the flexibility of a software resource. This makes my choice of a nookcolor a winner. It's not really a big deal to get charged a penny, but if it says FREE, it should BE free!

I have been using Olive Tree's BibleReader for nearly a decade now -- first used it on a Palm IIIc. Olive Tree continually improves their products by adding features, content, and expanding to different platforms. Some of the content I am presently using I first purchased for my Palm IIIc many years ago. Over the years, BibleReader has found its way onto a Dell PDA, a Garmin iQue (another Palm OS device) an Apple iTouch and most recently a Nook. As long as the platform is supported all my content has been transferred to each device.
I find BibleReader to be fast and responsive. The interface is easy to use, the search feature while simple is very good. And did I mention they have lots of content that's free as well as a huge selection of content for purchase including many resources a seminary student or pastor could use.

It's amazing that this app is practically free! I have tried reading the Bible, MHC and some form of reference material simultaneously. It's impossible unless you are at a huge table with lots of room. Not so anymore. Love this app...its very user friendly once you've practiced a little bit...thank you for making available such a high quality "free" app!

Account charged .01. Messed up our account. If you are going to charge just say so. I archived it and hope there are no more charges associated with it.

Some are complaining they cant find this after downloading. Thats because this is an App & not a book. It can be found on your Nook Home/ desktop :) Also, for those who dont like the split screen, just click on the small divider line between the two books on the middle of the screen & it will become one book. As for the download & installing issues some were experiencing.....not sure why....as I had no problems myself.

Definately worth that phantom penny some people talk about. It comes with The King James Version and Strongs Commentary and Bible Dictionary. And after setting up an account once in a while they release free versions of the bible. I have received several free versions from them. The split screen study and highlighting and notetaking functions are very nice and everything gets backed up off the device so you won't loose your study notes. Tottally recomended to anyone wanting a great bible reading/study app.

I have been using Olive tree on my palm since they first started, love the program. I had e-mailed them to see if they were going to release it for the nook at that time they weren't sure. I am glad they did. My library has grown over the years and I have access to it on phone, palm, ipod and now my nook.

After trying a number of apps, I stumbled upon Olive Tree for my Blackberry a couple of years back. Now I have it on my current Blackberry and my Android phone. After buying my Nook Color and not finding it, I even emailed Olive Tree asking if it could be made available for it also. (I had even installed Android 3.0 on a micro sd card so that I could boot the Nook that way when I wanted to study the Bible using Olive Tree!) Well worth the wait!

I enjoy the app, not love, but enjoy. It does not close when prompted. I have had to shut down the entire Nook to go back to the Nook home screen during church (which is where my other Bible is located) to get another translation. The difficulty exiting is bothersome. However it is very easy to find a book amd verse once open. ;)
