Organized by year and full of interesting, amusing and quirky facts and factoids, but without an index it's all random, hit-and-miss.

    A Note From the Author

Thank you for considering my book. It is the product of about a decade's worth of collecting what I thought were interesting facts about cycling --be they about races, technology, or the people of the sport. The book covers about the last 150 years, and includes many 'mainstream' facts about bicycles and cycling as well as some very odd and random ones, all of them, I hope, interesting.
Most of the items in each year are 'bite-sized' (usually about three or four lines) for quick reading, and I have written a book that reflects my own interests in cycling; mainly road biking, racing, and the grand tours. I also tried to keep up with innovations in cycling technology as well.
I have also made every effort to include as many items about Americans and other English-speaking riders as I could.
I hope you like it. JLW
