Big Apple Doo Wop

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Leggett
This two-disc set of relatively second-line doo wop releases is by turns both sedate and vigorous, and thankfully, Pazzazz has seen to it that the slow stuff falls on disc one while the more up-tempo tracks are relegated to the second disc, which is easily the better of the two, and the best cuts -- including the Du Droppers' jazzy "Can't Do Sixty No More," the Scarlets' syncopated "Cry Baby," the Du Mauriers' "All Night Long," and the Thunderbirds' rough and ragged "In My Thunderbird" -- are all on the second disc. Resequenced to ebb and flow more, this might have been a much more impressive set.
