All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
The second of two CD samplers put out by the budget label Drive Archive mostly consists of swing-era radio transcriptions and a few studio recordings that are available on the label's other releases. There is a selection apiece from the orchestras of Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Teddy Wilson featuring Billie Holiday, Hal McIntyre, Gene Krupa, Count Basie, Boyd Raeburn, Glenn Miller a broadcast version of "Chattanooga Choo Choo", Georgie Auld with Sarah Vaughan and for contrast Dizzy Gillespie and Paul Whiteman with Bing Crosby. Completists and serious collectors will already have most of this material.
