Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Using question after question, with answers for all, the author walks the reader through six big categories about Jesus, from his boyhood to his death, and finishes with personal discipleship. While Scottish phrases flow through the text—such as "turn up Exodus chapter 3..." (instead of the English "turn to)," or "Tick a box...," (instead of "check a box"), still, they remain easily understood in the context. Presently Pastor of Tron Church in Scotland and formerly Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia, Ferguson has drawn on his knowledge and experience to shape dozens of questions, answers, activities and prayers to be used in teaching kids about Jesus. This book, printed with small, black-and-white spot drawings on each page and as big as most coloring books, provides scriptural answers to each of the 34 questions posed. Additionally, Sinclair suggests other avenues of learning, allowing children to reach beyond the book's pages and outside the classroom setting—a genuine plus for educators, parents and children. 2000, Christian Focus Publications, $11.99. Ages 6 to 8. Reviewer: Patricia Timbrook
