Terry Watkins has always been a restless soul. He daydreamed his way through his first twelve years of school out of sheer boredom, a few of those daydreams ending up as short stories. When not in school or playing sports, he could usually be found roaming the mountains, sometimes for days on end. A habit that would persist until he'd hiked America's major mountain ranges from sea to shining sea.
This peripatetic lifestyle found Terry at one time or another living in more than half a dozen states, logging seven hitchhiking tours from coast to coast, calling a Volkswagen bus home, spending a year in the Mekong Delta, attending six different universities (he finally earned his MFA from the American Film Institute), and filling many journals with observations from his vagabondage.
Terry finally, after numerous failures, found and married a kindred itinerant soul, romance novelist Mary Leo. Together they've crisscrossed the country countless times and changed addresses more often than some people change diets.
But now, Terry and his wife swear they are firmly rooted in San Diego, one of their favorite cities. He intends to focus all his energies on writing, and is thrilled to be the first male to publish in the Bombshell line. He promises to settle down and put those dozens of accumulated journals to good use.
The Big Burn by Terry Watkins released on Apr 1, 2010 is available now for purchase.
