Praise for BIG NATE STRIKES AGAIN: “The millions of Wimpy Kid fans will be thrilled to find another cartoon buddy to read about, this good-hearted king of detention.”

Praise for BIG NATE ON A ROLL: “Nate is often compared to Jeff Kinney’s Wimpy Kid and will appeal to the same audience, he bears more resemblance to the tricksters of folklore...the interplay between text and pictures remains fresh, as does the distinction between Peirce’s cartoons and Nate’s own cartoons.”
Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
Big Nate, a sixth grader, plans on finding a way to get out of taking a social studies test. After panicking during the morning, Nate is relieved to find out from Francis that there is no test. Then, Nate is intrigued by a message he gets in a fortune cookie. His fortune informs him that he will surpass all others. Throughout the day, Nate is up to his antics as he tries to figure out his destiny of greatness. He wonders if it means that he will capture Jenny's attention. Perhaps, he will surpass others with a speed-eating record. Nate has quite a day filled with mischief as he tries to figure out how he will surpass all others. His teachers have a challenging day with Nate. There are comic strip-like illustrations that add to the plot of the story and keep the storyline moving quickly. This edition has additional pages of Nate's humor like his Santa wish list and Jolly Comix. Readers who enjoy Nate's mischievous nature will probably enjoy the "Big Nate" series along with the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung

NOT FOR NOOK HD (no PagePerfect, i.e. graphically enhanced, books are).
They don't tell you this when you purchase a NOOK HD - which is the updated version of the Nook Color.

The newest reader gets fewer compatible books, and none with enhanced graphics!  Nice.
