It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too.
And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c&$k.
You might think I'm an as%*$le. I sound like one, don't I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.
Guess what?

Overview

It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too.
And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c&$k.
You might think I'm an as%*$le. I sound like one, don't I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.
Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I'm the playboy who's actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.
The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I've got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte's up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.
And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can't fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.

But I can't seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

What the hell have I gotten myself into with this...big rock?

Absolutely LOVED it! At first,The title of the book gave me doubts as to an actual story line. But it perfectly matched the main character's sense of humor. I could not put this book down! The chemistry and heat between these two was off the charts.

Spencer was a playboy to the max. Charlotte is his best friend and business partner. They are each others wingman when they get into a bind. Spencers father is selling his business to a family man. He takes it upon himself to stopping his playboy ways. He decides to ask Charlotte to act like his fiance until his father's business is sold. All this pretending can't be a good decision for the best friends. This was the best playboy book I ever read. Spencer is a really nice and considerable guy and not an arrogant jerk that so many books out there already. He is a great best friend to Charlotte , and to his sister and friend Nick too. The characters in this story are very unique from any other I read before. Great writing Lauren can't wait to hear Nicks story. Grab this book for a great best friend story like no other.

Big Rock is a standalone novel that has a rich playboy guy needing a fake fiancee asap. This story is told in the leading male's POV which I found to be the perfect fit. I was left wondering if Spencer, our main character would be able to stay "faithful" to his fake fiancee or if real feelings would form before the end of their charade. We start off by meeting Spencer Holiday, he runs a bar, is filthy rich and is a playboy. His father is trying to sell the jewelry company he started back in the day and the potential buyer is very old fashioned and wants to meet the family behind the business. This is where Spencer kind of puts his foot in his mouth and says his best friend Charlotte Rhodes is his fiancee. His thoughts were right by thinking what's more wholesome than a former playboy settling down. Charlotte has been his friend and business partner for awhile now and is up for the task since she doesn't want Spencer in trouble. In the name of playing the game though they blur the lines between their friendship and it leaves both a bit worried about how their friendship will survive after the charade is over. Big Rock is a Contemporary Romance I couldn't put down. This rarely happens for me with the story told in a male POV but this one was executed perfectly. I'm seeing why readers love this author's books and I'm going to have to try more soon. If you're looking for a Contemporary Romance with a faking the relationship type trope you'll adore this book.

Blakely’s Big Rock is a fast paced, non-stop laugh out loud romantic comedy told in the first person POV of her über-confident without being smug, too sexy for his own good hero and couples him with a beautiful, smart heroine who’s not only his bestie but also his perfect match. Set in Manhattan she utilizes many Big Apple landmarks and amenities and gives her stars an added layer of sophistication. The banter is entertaining, Spencer’s cat Fido is a hoot and the love scenes are smoking hot making this BFF to Forever Love a must read on any romance lover’s list. The audible edition narrated by Sebastian York is the perfect way to experience the read. With his deep sexy voice Sebastian’s perfect for Spencer and he’s good at not only the female voices but also the subtle inflections and setting an impeccable mood. This is the perfect way to enjoy a stressful, rush-hour commute. Spencer Holiday will be the first to admit that he is a master serial dater, has no interest in happy ever afters. But when the sale of his dad’s flagship jewelry store depends on just that he needs a pretend fiancé fast for a week. So whom else would he turn to but his BFF and business partner, the beautiful woman who knows him the best. When her best friend begs her to be his temporary fake bride-to-be Charlotte Rhodes has reservations about how she a horrible liar and he a confirmed bachelor can possibly pull this off. But when her “test” kiss turns her on more than she ever imagined she thinks there may be more to worry about than pulling it off, like keeping her heart safe.

This book is funny. Loved the chemistry of Spencer and Charlotte. Always enjoy a friends to lover story, because you know they actually have a relationship before getting a love relationship.. Will definetely read the rest of books.

I found the male char just plain annoying with his constant braggadocio lines, it got old REALLY fast. If the author had just used it occasionally it might (a big might) have been humorous but as written, it was so not. I do think the author certainly has good writing ability, just not in this book, there just didn't seem to be chemistry between the main chars.

Delightful in every way. I loved the humor in this book. I loved how they had a fake relationship that turned real. I loved the way that he thought about her and protected her from gross creeps. I just loved it.

I hate to disagree with all of the positive reviews but I felt this book was rather goofy. I really had high hopes for it because of the synopsis but I couldn't finish it.

Big Rock by Lauren Blakely Narrated by Sebastian York 4 Stars - I was excited to read Spence and Charlotte’s story as I had just read and loved Mister O. Spence was funny, demanding and his inner grumblings made me chuckle with his use of words like “Douche-nozzle.” Charlotte was an honest, nice girl and at times I felt she was a little less confident in herself than I had originally thought. Those moments happening few and far between, but when they happened, they seemed to stick with me. The two leads fit well together and I liked their ease of working in the bar as partners, they truly felt like the old friends they were written to be. Sebastian York's narration was great as usual.

I loved this book! The humor is great and the love story is passionate. As you read it you see all the signs that Spencer has missed about him and Charlotte. They finally add up to him and then bamn! He falls fast. I hope Nick's story is as good. It's fun to read from a guy's point of view.

Spencer is a hoot! He's cocky (pun intended!) and loves to have a good time, but he's such a sweetie inside. He might be arrogant, but he's not degrading to those around him. I really enjoyed reading about him and Charlotte ... and woo hoo ... they're HOT together! :) Spencer Holiday considers himself God's gift to women, and let's be honest ladies, to a degree he is! :) He's sexy, rich, sure of himself and follows through with exactly what his attitude promises .. and he has his best friend Charlotte's back no matter what! When Spencer's dad needs him to appear settled and family oriented for a business deal, he immediately recruits his best friend Charlotte to pretend to be his fiance. All of their close quarters and pretend affection turns into the real stuff as they start to become attracted to each other. Will this just be a quick fling while they are fake engaged, or will they not be able to walk away in the end?
