When you're little, you'll love it. When you're a mom, you'll love ti even more. It's about the joy of having and being a sister, and the beauty of still being yourself. Too bad the hardback is out of print - it's the perfect gift for a new big sister.

My sister and I grew up in the early 70s reading this beloved book together. I haven't thought about it in years but recently ran across it at a B&N and bought it for my now 39 year old sister. It brought tears to her eyes to read it again! What a beautiful and sweet book - I bought one for my 3 year old daughter, too.

Makes a great gift for anyone with two girls; good lessons taught w/out preaching. But get the hardback version, it's much more elegant.

This book was written the year I was born (1966), and it has an innocence about it, suggestive of the time. It has such lovely pencil illustrations, lightly colored. I read it to my daughter, who has a younger cousin she treats like a sister, and she really enjoyed this book. She took it out of the library at school, and now I'm going to buy it!
