Jameson s seamless, satisfying sophomore effort tells the story of Naomi Conner, a former computer hacker who has turned her talents (and guilt) into a career as a digital security expert. Eager for a promotion and a chance to redeem herself for an accidental hack she perpetrated as a teenager, she signs on to run a test breach of Brennan Shipping the very defense contractor she once almost destroyed. Complicating the project is the irresistibly handsome but bull-headed Joe Casey, Brennan s acting chief technology officer and part heir to the Brennan empire. (Jameson s debut, My Hero, featured Joe s brother, Chas.) Though Joe suspects Naomi has a hacker past, he s undone by Naomi s killer combination of gorgeous blonde curls, Southern charm and brilliance. Though she tries desperately to keep things professional, Naomi has a hard time ignoring the primitive attraction she feels towards Joe. As she cracks wall after wall of company defenses, the barrier between the two colleagues inevitably crumbles, but the revelation of Naomi s past brings the affair to an abrupt halt. Also, Naomi s snooping uncovers a serious breach at Brennan, and with all evidence pointing towards Joe, Naomi fears she might have slept with the enemy. Jameson spins a slight but suspenseful romance with hi-tech window dressing. (May) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

Great contemporary romance. I loved the characters, the romantic tension, the twist and turns in the story, and the witty banter between the lead characters. I couldn't put it down. I have added this author to my favorites list and I'm looking forward to her next book.

Naomi Conner is a computer security consultant who used to be a hacker known as R@ptrgurl. When she was a teenager she was drawn into a plot to breach the security of defense contractor. Now years later she wants the assignment to help them beef up their security and make amends. What she doesn't count on is the way she is drawn to the CTO Joe Casey. She and Joe are working closely on this issue and Joe is drawn to her and pursues a relationship with her. He even takes her out on his sailboat for a ride, which he has never done with another woman, and in spite that she is terrified of water. As Naomi and Joe fall in love she finds it harder and harder to keep the secret of her past from him. But, she can't bring herself to tell him as he still talks about the hacker almost ruining their lives. Naomi also discovers that the current breach of security is an inside job. The story climaxes when Joe finds out who Naomi once was. ************ This is a follow up to the author¿s first book and a wonderful one at that. She has built on strong characters that you first saw in ¿My Hero¿ and taken it further to see how Joe has held a grudge for a number of years but, can forgive. I have to disagree with tall those who said to not waste your money. If you are looking for a great summer book with a bit of intrigue grab this one and stash it in your pool/beach.

Computer security specialist Naomi Connor is the best at doing the seemingly impossible of breaking through barriers that experts insist cannot breached. That is why companies clamor for her services to conduct the ultimate beta test of their systems security as she has left many skilled specialists red-faced. --- Defense contractor Brennan Shipping CIO Joe Casey hires her company who sends the world¿s greatest legal hacker Naomi to break into his new system. She finds it ironic that as a college student she illegally hacked into Brennan Shipping now she can repeat her escapade legally and clean up any signatures left behind. When Joe and Naomi meet, sparks fly though neither wants an attraction between them. She needs to prove to the world that she has brains as much as beauty while he does not go out with workers or women for more than three dates. Still they fall in love, but he is a boat person and she cannot swim besides which they must deal with a hacker trying to gain access to top military secrets though everyone concludes it must be her. --- BIG TROUBLE is a fine romantic suspense thriller that grips the audience from the moment that Naomi pleads her way onto the assignment and never slows down until the final confrontation with the hacker. The story line is fast-paced as the lead pair falls in love, but he struggles to trust her as she is the prime suspect. The glimpses at computer security are blended nicely into the plot so that the audience obtains a bit of understanding without slowing down the speed. Fans will enjoy Marianna Jameson¿s wonderful tale and seek her other work, MY HERO. --- Harriet Klausner
