Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Quattlebaum
A simple, rhythmic text and bright illustrations describe plant development from seed to seedling to full-grown flower. An added bonus: each page opens out to form a round petal, giving little ones a chance to "grow" their own flower. Reviewer: Mary Quattlebaum

    Great book!

My 18-month-old son absolutely loves this book! He loves how each page unfolds into another petal of the sunflower that is revealed at the end. This book is also a read-aloud favorite at our public library's storytime. I also like that it teaches children the process by which a seed grows into a plant and that it includes instructions on how to plant your own sunflowers. My son really likes the bright colors in this book and he likes that it is interactive. I think this is a great book for babies and preschoolers as an introduction to what happens when a seed is planted.
