Overview

In his eagerly anticipated follow-up to Me Write Book, Bigfoot returns from exile to share his inspiring, hilarious, and often deeply disturbing experiences as a misunderstood forest gentleman and tragic media darling. These entertaining and often grizzly stories stand not only as a testament to the greatness of the legendary man-beast, but also as a chilling cautionary tale of the downside of a life of celebrity, cannibalism, celebrity cannibalism, wanton violence, and lack of toilet training. As in Me Write Book, full-color glossy spreads depict every intimate, disgusting, and downright insane moment of Bigfoot’s life. Bigfoot: I Not Dead is an unforgettable memoir that will stay with readers long after his foul scent has dissipated.

Editorial Reviews

People Magazine
Graham Roumieu's slender ode to the beleaguered mythological fringe hominid is a quirky, uncategorizable delight.
San Francisco Chronicle
Brilliantly funny.
Salon.com
So freaking funny you'll be out of breath.
Publishers Weekly

Everyone's favorite fringe hominid returns in Roumieu's raucous follow-up to 2005's Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir. Narrated by the grammatically challenged Bigfoot himself, this latest series of adventures finds the forest creature taking to the road "like Kerouac," doling out life lessons and observations on society. Tackling issues from global warming ("lower carbon emission by chase Bigfoot on floating log in river rather than truck, helicopter or hovercrafts") to crumbling communities (the squirrels in Bigfoot's old neighborhood "now bury rock of crack instead of nuts"). Bigfoot is a brutally honest social critic. He also strives to set the record straight and debunk common myths: "Bigfoot no grant wishes like leprechaun or genie" and when one hears Bigfoot stomping around the woods, help him out because "Bigfoot not as confident as might first seem." Roumieu's hilarious, effortless illustrations and handwritten text make each page a delight. Bigfoot is well on his way to becoming, as he outlines in his "self improve" plan, the "Oscar Wilde of the woods." (May)

    Hilarious!

I bought this book for my 24-year old sister for Christmas. I'd say it is definitely for a specific type of humor as some people I showed the book to did not appreciate it the way that she and I did. I think its a great buy though. Unfortunately, I can't get into too much detail because the book is not PG and a lot of it is harsh and somewhat disgusting. If you purchase it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

    World's Funniest Book

This is hands-down the most amusing book I have ever read. I picked it up and started reading it in a store, while sipping a lemonade, and I laughed so hard that I snarfed my lemonade. I suppose it would have been embarrassing if I hadn't been laughing too hard to care. The words are in perfect semi-English 'think Cookie Monster grammar', and the illustrations are works of art on their own. Maybe not 'high art', but every bit as framable. This is a must-buy, must-read, must-share book! Watch out for those wolverines - 'I hear they spit acid and can bench press like 500 pounds.'
