Barnes & Noble - Donald Gray
Comedian Chris Rock follows up his breakthrough CD, ROLL WITH THE NEW, with yet another instant classic. His trademark social criticism blisters in the opening routine, "Black Mall," which rips into the ghettoizing of black tastes by big corporations. Rock then skips through recent headlines, moving his attention to facile media explanations for the "trench-coat mafia" killers "Who cares what the fuck they were listening to? What was Hitler listening to? What was in his CD case?", Clinton and Lewinsky "Lied about sex?… People lie while they're having sex", gays in the military, and unaffordable medical insurance "When I was a kid, whatever you had, you'd better hope ...

What was in his CD case?", Clinton and Lewinsky "Lied about sex?… People lie while they're having sex", gays in the military, and unaffordable medical insurance "When I was a kid, whatever you had, you'd better hope Robitussin could cure it.… I broke my leg, Daddy poured Robitussin on it". Balancing the outrageous stand-up material are numerous skits and song parodies -- like the hilariously incomprehensible "Words of Wisdom" from Ol' Dirty Bastard. When all is said and done, Rock proves once again that he's the funniest stand-up working today. All hail the king.
All Music Guide - Steve Huey
Presented in the style of its Grammy-winning predecessor, Roll With the New, Bigger and Blacker combines routines from Chris Rock's accompanying HBO special with additional sketches and parodies including the cover, a No Limit nudge. Rock consolidates his position as one of the 90s' top comedians -- his material imbued with a socially perceptive edginess that complements his wry observations and street-smart persona. Special guest appearances are made by Prince Paul, Biz Markie, Ice Cube, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and comedienne extraordinaire Janeane Garofalo.

Chris Rock's the future of comedy

Chris Rock is one of the brilliant comedians of the present. A couple of reviewers gave this a bad review, saying it was immature or stupid. That is far from true. Gallagher smashing a watermelon with a hammer is immature and stupid, this isn't. Rock points out all the BS in america, and puts a spin on it that is both creative, and extremely funny. My guess is that the people who didn't like this album were offended by the language. He does swear a lot, but so did George Carlin, Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy, and those guys are comedic geniuses, just like Rock.

Chris Rock his comedy tells the truth

Anyone who thinks chris rock's comedy is inmature is stupid because all he is doin is telling the truth so if you guys who think its a waste of time to buy his cd then you might as well not buy any comedy cd's because you dont understand true comedy. I think the cd is great. It's got great comedy and stand up.
