    One of the best health & fitness books I've read

    I loved this book. I wish I had found it years ago--it would've saved me so much time, aggravation, and money.

    The author covers literally everything you need to know to get into great shape. Everything is explained clearly, precisely, and logically. I found myself nodding throughout the entire book.

    And the results? I've been following his diet and training methods for several months now and I've made more gains since starting than I did all last year. I'm the strongest I've ever been, and am actually getting leaner while getting bigger. Amazing.

    To top if off, Mr. Matthews gives his email address in the end of the book. I emailed him, pretty sure I wouldn't get a reply, but he replied within 24 hours with full, real answers. Great customer service!

    I'd been working out religiously five days per week for about 2

    I'd been working out religiously five days per week for about 2 years before I started Michael's program. During that time, I'd made fairly good progress for the first 6 months, but then after that I "plateau'd." I wouldn't really gain or lose after that point. I tried changing my workouts, taking every supplement under the sun (except steroids), and special diets.

    Then I started doing Michael's program. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was gaining muscle again. Not any ridiculous overnight changes, but I was steadily gaining real lean muscle. Within a few months of sticking to the program I was actually happy with my muscle mass and the way I looked for the first time ever.

    I'm a "tough gainer," meaning I naturally put on muscle slowly and I'm also much more prone to gaining fat. But this program definitely works for me. I gave it to five or six of my friends who work out as well, and every single one of them started gaining muscle MUCH faster they were previously. I was actually pretty shocked by that, because from I've seen over the years, different programs work for different people and everyone is unique. I'd never seen one program that works the best for everybody, but that is exactly what happened with this program. I guess it's because this isn't so much a "program" as it is just the basics of how gaining muscle and losing fat works. I know people who used the information in this book to get real big and also people who used it to get lean and cut, down to about 6% body fat.

    I'm still using this program, trying to achieve my ultimate goal, and now I'm comfortable knowing that I will--as long as I stick with the program. Good luck making your goals, too. I think this book will help you do it.

    This is an amazing book. It contains the answers to most people's questions about bodybuilding, fitness and health. It deconstructs all myths regarding weight lifting and cardio activities and comes with effective ways for you to achieve your goals.

    The author also explains the science facts that support the info, and that's great for credibility. You don't have to believe him. All facts are there.

    But probably the most valuable thing of this work is establishing in a totally clear way what you must and mustn't do to achieve 100% of your goals. So if you can't handle the lifestyle changing, you'd better re considerate your expectations.

    The only inconvenience is that it could be shorter. The first pages are a little repetitive.

    If you really want to build a great body (fast) and live healthier, this book shows you shortest path.

    I've been into working out for quite some time now and have read many books, worked with many trainers, and tried many routines. This book is one of the best I've read on getting in shape--period.

    Whether you're brand new or a veteran of health & fitness, you'll be glad you read this book. It strips away all the BS and hype and teaches you the time-proven, scientific principles of getting bigger, leaner, and stronger--and FAST.

    Like the author says, no matter how bad you might think your genetics are or how much trouble you've had trying to get the body you want, you CAN look and feel great and it DOESN'T have to consume your life--you don't have to spend hours in the gym each day or swear off "cheat" foods.

    Buy this book and do what it says. You won't be disappointed.

    Awesome Book

    I have been lifting for a while now on and off for about 4 years. I came across this book while browsing online for articles related to fitness and diet. I wanted to give it shot because of its high demand.

    The book:

    1. Very concise and short. No need to spend lots of hours reading this book. Mike will guide you through it in a very timely manner and with good information backed with scientific proof.

    2. You might think that you need answers. Well every page you turn, Mike will answer one of your questions. I was a little skeptical about his training philosophy, but at the end of the day it does work.

    3. You might be a little skeptical on counting calories and sticking to a diet, but after you read this book your mind will expand how it actually works. If you want results you need to change up your game and give it a try.

    4. If you were to be a beginner to weight lifting this is the right book for you. It will break down important steps and parts of this sport and it will guide you to get results from the first try. You don't need to go around looking for other insights and wasting your time listening to people that clearly are on steroids. If you want natural results read this book and move on to the next book, educate yourself and expand your knowledge It doesn't hurt to learn!

    I used to be quite overweight and over the years I've tried several different ways to lose weight and work out to build muscle. I ended up going on a calorie deficiency and boosted my activity level and lost the pounds. During this time I was always tired and felt like I barely had enough energy to make it through the day. I had read tons of info all over the internet and decided to start eating normal calories again with lean food, cutting out all the junk. I just recently came across the book Bigger Leaner Stronger this year, and I wish i had read it years ago so i could have been doing everything properly from the start! I am now strictly following the workout routines in the book and now on my third week I have noticed quite significant strength gains. I am very happy and feel more knowledgable about my body's health and how it functions. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about bettering their lifestyle and getting in shape. Read "Bigger Leaner Stronger" and get the results you want by doing your bulking/building or cutting/sliming right the first time.  Dont waste your time spending hours in the gym working out wrong..

    Good book, I'm definitely glad I bought it.  I enjoy the fact that Mike gets straight to the point.  The bottom line is that if you want to make progress, you're going to have to work hard.  However, that doesn't mean hours in the gym.  Most of the workouts he recommends are an hour or less.  The only drawback I see in his style, is that it's some pretty heavy lifting, so it may be difficult to do without a training partner.  I think his information is spot on though!

    I picked up 'Bigger, Leaner, Stronger' on Barnes & Noble aft

    I picked up 'Bigger, Leaner, Stronger' on Barnes & Noble after coming across Mike Matthew's website. The fitness industry has made working out so complicated that many people wanting to get fit often get lost trying to find what works and what doesn't. BLS unscrews all of the ridiculous myths of working out and gets back to basics. Strong conventional wisdom with an honest approach to working out, as well as,  some great tips for getting to your goals. If you are new to lifting or like me have been at it for some time, there is wisdom to be found in Mike Matthews stripped down method. The book also simplifies diet and supplements, making this a great starter book, as well as, a 'get back on track' book for the seasoned lifter. I highly recommend 'Bigger, Leaner, Stronger' and have personally benefitted from his approach.James Pond

    I purchased book after hearing the author on the Road to Ripped

    I purchased book after hearing the author on the Road to Ripped podcast.  Bigger, Leaner, Stronger is full of great material and doesn't waste any time with useless fluff.  If you consider all the material in the book, as well as what he provides in the bonus report, it is well worth the cost.  Out of all the fitness books I have read over the years, this one really laid everything out clearly without any confusion.  It has already shed so much light on what I have been doing wrong and I look forward to what the next year will bring.

    Great book and Great Supoort

    I bought this book based on a friend’s recommendation. After reading it, I have recommended it to my friends and do to anyone who wants to see change in their body.

    The book is very easy to understand and tells you everything you need to know about exercising. This book is for a great range of people from beginners to advance weight lifters.

    The best part is that Mike Matthews give you all the tools you need to get the body you want. He also lists his e-mail address in the end of the book for any questions you might have. I was unsure if I would email him, if he would reply. About a week after I bought the book he e-mail me and I replied with a question which he answered. He responds within 24 hours, which is really cool.

    I am 4 weeks into his year program and I am already seeing change in my body and strength.

    If you are thinking about buying this book, stop thinking and just get it. It is worth it.

    EASY & EFFECTIVE

    Simplest and most effective plan ive seen Im currently using it in the middle east and am seeing visible results in two weeks I dont feel like im overtraining Its a really nice pace and clearly working Just follow the instructions and you wont be dissapointed He gurantees it and I do too!

    Great nutrition and weight lifting overview; well cited

    I first bought this on audiobook and then bought the ebook for reference. Mike Matthews provides a great overview of nutrition and weigh lifting basics for getting big and lean. I've been working on his plan for 6 weeks and seeing great results already. Very happy with the purchase.

    One of the better books on diet and fitness In have ever read. The book is def geared toward a male audience particularly in there 20s-40s working out primarily for aesthetic physique. As a 20+ yr fitness enthusiast it's as solid as it gets.

    An excellent book that lays it down straight.  For me, I am fortunate in that money is no concern when it comes to training.  I have thus been able to hire the best personal trainers, the best supplements and a perfectly proportioned meals delivered to me.  Working out for the past three years straight, after following what is suggested in this book, I am finally seeing myself able to advance past the plateau I have been stuck at in years.  Muscle confusion, super sets, etc.. and everything seemed to not do much of anything for me.

    In few weeks, I have felt, seen and been able to lift more weight than I have in the past few year.  

    The consensus, all the money in the world can't buy the results that the advice Michael Matthews has provided for the cost of a couple of starbucks lattes and a few hours of your time.  A+++
