I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The plot was very engaging and the characters were even more so. In the few dozen books I have read designed for teen and young adult audiences, I have never come across one that had characters with such depth and real life problems, yet captured in a way that teens (and adults) can relate to without being overwhelmed. It¿s unique in this sense based on my reading of young adult fiction. The length of the book is very digestible too and Mr. Swartz says a lot while only having to say a little. This speaks to the fact that it was very nicely written and well crafted. I hope Mr. Swartz make this first ¿Neil Everheart¿ mystery one of several because I believe it has the makings of an excellent series. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. ...Bikes and Bullies is an enlightening book which is refreshingly different from the ordinary children's mystery novel...The author takes the reader through a wonderfully detailed setting as he flows into a unique style of character development...the story is nicely crafted as well and keeps the reader wondering what will happen next...the main characters exude an integrity that is rarely seen in this type of book and this quality makes you want to know them...all in all, a fine mystery that really works...Was this review helpful?
