It is an excellent book and explains the connection of J. R. R. Tolkien¿s writings to Roman Catholicism. If you enjoy any of Tolkien¿s writings or any good ¿fairy tale,¿ take the time to read this.

Pearce does an excellent job showing the struggle the characters face between choosing righteousness or being caught up in the wickedness of the ever present evil. He explains the essence of selfishness, pride, luck and providence and how it relates to the novel.
After you read the book you may be interested in obtaining his CD, “Joseph Pearce Unlocks The Lord of The Rings.”
