    Great Stories, Incredible History

I really enjoyed the way in which the book is written. Bill writes his version of what's going on and the the next paragraph is written by those he has just spoken of....everyone from Jerry to Santana, Wavy Gravy to Ken Kesey, Keith Richards to Lawrence Ferlenghetti -- all of their views are here as well. Not only are the stories of Bill's creation of the San Fran scene some of the best historical accounts of what went down and how Bill made it all come together, but the story of his childhood/adolescent years is fascinating. To see where he came from and how he made this life for himself is really amazing. Anyone who is interested in 60s/70s culture, the SF music scene, the merry pranksters/acid tests, the rolling stones, and genuinely interesting stories of where some of the greatest musicians got their start will dig this book.
