Wow! From the moment she opened her eyes, the chemistry between Rodrigo, her gorgeous surgeon and self-appointed guardian angel, and Cybele was palpable! Cybele suffered from memory loss that she incurred in an accident. But her memory came back to her in expertly written doses of info and insight that only Olivia Gates can deliver. And boy did she deliver - unfurling the intricacies and the mysteries of Rodrigo's presence in Cybele's life. I loved learning about Cybele's past and found myself turning each page faster and faster so I could discover what else had lead up to their current relationship. Like an onion, this story has so many fascinating layers to remove and reveal more and more about the characters who you will care about and adore. Rodrigo is as sexy and alpha a hunk as any one woman could handle; he's positively scrumptious. As the book progressed, his love for her expanded to fill each page and each encounter with so much kindness and caring I wanted to crawl through the pages and embrace him myself. The intensity crackled between them every time they were alone. And he'd made sure they'd have plenty of time to be alone when he whisked her away to his estate where they fell into the deeply caring love that can only grow from a connection on so many levels including humor, attraction, and true friendship. When they finally did share intimacy, it was as beautifully written and romantic, as all of Olivia's love scenes are, seamlessly integrated into the book, patient and intense. But this one held a special surprise you'll have to read yourself to find out.

Which reader of romance does not love a hot sexy totally delicious Dr hero! I for sure darn do! And if there is one author that can write a truly brilliant Dr. hero and add in a world of complete wonder and excitement it is Olivia Gates. She completely wowed me in this read with twists and turns that left me in no doubt that I will forever more be hooked on her books. The read tells of Cybele( btw Olivia that name is GORGEOUS), she is whisked away by Dr. I’ll –drive-you-wild-with-a-mere-look Rodrigo., to recover from a truly unfortunate life altering event. Once there it is not only the passion between them that flares but the raging emotions of hurt, betrayal and anger all come bubbling to the top when secret after secret is revealed and this new found relationship is set to be doomed before it even really starts.  The character of Rodrigo was all kinds of deliciousness but also so kind and tender that when looking at just how hot he is, the sweet and tender thought will be the furthest thing from your mind. Yet the author created the perfect man. Well almost, he does have a secret or too that when revealed left me going “ No, no, no that so cannot be!” But then again who does not have secrets.  Cybele was really awesome, she is strong and fights back which is easy when you are that type of person but with as many ‘set backs’ as this heroine faces it is a true wonder that she makes it out to the other side.  The author created a truly fantastic story of just how explosive secrets can be but also showed that hidden in the depths of darkness a secret left untold will forever haunt you. I recommend this read for anyone who is a fan of romance with loads and loads of twists, turns and completely unexpected events. There is no way you will be able to say “I figured out this book” before you get to the very last page. 5 star review  “ He has her, but will his secrets let him keep her?”

What a lovely story of true love. This book reads like a mystery novel, slowly unfolding its secrets like a rose unfolds its petals. (I'm trying to write like Olivia Gates!) She is very inspirational. Unfortunately I don't come anywhere near the unique way Olivia Gates expresses herself. This story was a joy to read.

It was great to see both sides (even though the reader doesn't really know completely what Rodrigo is thinking until the end). It was a really fun book and there really was only one steamy area of a couple of pages - so if you're not into that but like the plot skimming wouldn't kill the story. The medical terminology was a bit distracting for me - but again, I just skimmed - but it wasn't the essence of the story. I did enjoy the story as a whole but it's not something I'll keep on my shelf to reread or lend.
