Overview

Birgivi's Manual Interpreted is the explanative translation of a major Islamic legal work on menstruation, lochia, and related issues. Answering hundreds of questions needed by the Muslim woman practicing her din, this book provides accurate information and practical arrangement of charts and texts making it an important reference for every Muslim family. The primary text, Dhukhr al-Muta'ahhilin [Treasure for Those with Families] by Imam Muhammad al-Birgivi (d. 981/1573), is the most authoritative work on menstruation in the Hanafi school, which the majority of Muslims follow. The work has been commentated upon by a number of traditional scholars, the best known of whom is Imam Ibn 'Abidin, the central scholar of the late Hanafi school.

The text and its commentaries have been studied by Hedaya Hartford and Ashraf Muneeb under various sheikhs from Syria and Turkey, among them Sheikh Muhammad Amin Siraj of Turkey, a traditional Hanafi scholar who has an unbroken chain to Imam al-Birgivi himself. Sheikh Siraj gave Hartford and Muneeb his authorization to teach this volume in a written ijaza that attests, in his words, to their "full comprehension and meticulous understanding" of the work.

    ARE you prepared?

ARE you prepared? We think we are, but in reality we are not. A new world has opened up for my learning, my understanding and my preparedness for the obligatory aspects of worship because of this text.

NOTHING comparable has been translated into English and this is such a reliable and important source with such detail on all the integrals of the fiqh of blood with menstruation and post partum bleeding.

EVERYONE should have this text, men and woman, often when you are a student of fiqh, the menstruation lesson is always saved until the last, or often not taught with the other integrals due to it's complexity and need of a deep comprehension because of the sensitivity of it's nature.

IF you do not understand the fiqh of menstruation, you can't understand the importance of taking the appropriate actions for worship.

THIS text simplifies everything in an easy to read format with bullet points, captions and headings. It is a fiqh text at it's highest, on a subject that is often not well taught or mastered.

BUT this hidden treasure among the ulema who mastered this subject have brought it to our attention reminding us of it's importance by translating it into English for the world to discover...READ ON!
