    Just an ad for Disney

    It's not that this guidebook is bad -- it isn't -- it's just that it reads like one big ad or brochure for Disney. It barely scratches the surface, and totes the company line. There are some nice photos, but the book doesn't have the detail or insight of other guides. The organization of the book is a little wacky, too. Pass on this one, and instead get The Complete Walt Disney World 2012 or the Unofficial Guide. Actually, get both of them :)

    Not bad in conjunction with another book

    This slim book on Disney has its place, but it doesn't hold up on its own. If you get it, make sure to also get one of the more detailed Disneyworld guidebooks. This one will certainly give you the Disney point of view, but you probably want more honest information -- and advice.

    Too much like a brochure

    I agree with the other reviewers; this book, although it has its charms, is too much like a brochure for Disney World. I want to know how to pick between the different rides and other attractions, and this Birnbaum Official Guide isn't going to say anything but praise. Some of the photos are good and helpful, but other guide books are better at this score.
