    Great Dining Guide

I loved using Birnbaum's 2009 Dining Guide. It also served as a great companion to my 2009 Edition of The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World. Both Birnbaum's Dining and The Healthy Guide assisted me with everything from making ADR dining reservations, to selecting which eateries to dine at. I espcially loved author Dan Green's Healthy Guide to WDW with its funny restaurant reviews and fitness tips for active Disney guests. Both books are your best bet for 2009 Disney Dining info.

    I Also Recommend:

    WDW Dining Guide

This is a must if you are going to WDW. It is not only helpful for planning where you want to eat so you can make reservations ahead of time, but it is great for when you are there and decide you want something to eat. It can fit in your pocketbook.

    Good Dining Information

I used both this book and the Disney fan favorite "The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009" by author Dan Green when planning my Disney vacation in June 2009. I think both guides are good, but The Healthy Guide is more up-to-date and has great dining reviews that are right on the mark. Birnbaums's Dining Guide and The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009 are both great guides for your upcoming 2009 Disney vacation.

Bought last year's edition, now I'm getting this year's

I'm purchasing this edition right now, so I can't review this one, but I can say that last year's really came in handy. If you search around on the internet enough there are at least a couple websites that have the Disney restaurant menues posted, but that won't do you any good once you're in the park for the day. I planned ahead and made lots of dining reservations, but there were a couple times that we changed our minds, and luckily we had this book on hand to look to see what else was close to where we were and a quick description of what they serve. It's not real big and bulky, which is another plus- it didn't take up much room in our bags, so it was easy enough to carry with us everywhere we went.

    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

Great guide to WDW dining for 1st time visitors or those returning and trying new places to eat.

The book reviews all the restaurants and snack areas in WDW with limited menu descriptions, prices and if it is on the DDP (Disney Dining Plan) for 2009.

There are recipes for some WDW favorites in the back of the book, plus a table of contents and an index for easy of use of the book.

Many dining tips are located within the guide book.

The dining guide book is a small size so you can place it in a purse or backpack and bring it with you to WDW as a reference.

I would call WDW directly to find out when you can acquire your WDW Dining Reservations. The guide book on page 11 states "call 407-WDW-DINE 180 days prior to check in day". The rules have changed as of 2009, I guess after publication of the WDW dining guide book. You can now make your WDW dining reservations only 90 days prior to your arrival date.

There are also some perks with dining reservations, at least in 2009, if you are staying in a WDW owned resort. When it is 90 days before your 1st day of arrival, you can make your dining reservations for day 1 through day 10 of your WDW vacation, only if you are staying at a WDW owned resort.

If you are visiting WDW, want dining reservations, and not staying at a WDW owned resort, you can make your dining reservation 90 days before each day of your vacation. Call 407-WDW-DINE for more information about dining reservation policies.

This is a great WDW dining guide book for those visiting WDW for the 1st time or want to find out more information about new places to eat while at WDW.
