Daniel Young is a food critic by trade and a collector of kitchen, dining room, and café secrets in practice. He is the author of Made in Marseille, The Rough Guide to New York City Restaurants, and The Paris Café Cookbook and has written about French food and culture for many publications, including Gourmet, Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveler, the New York Times, and others. Formerly the restaurant critic for the New York Daily News, he now lives in Paris, London, and his hometown, New York.

    A real treat!!

    THE BISTROS, BRASSERIES, AND WINE BARS OF PARIS by Daniel Young is a must have book for all those who do group entertaining of gourmet meals from other countries for those hoping to get the most from a visit to Paris for those who want continuing memories and recipes from past visits to Paris and for all of us other folks who want a truly Parisian food experience from our own home. Best of all, this book is exactly what it says it is, and includes great descriptions of the similarities and differences of the food experiences given in the book title. The recipes are scrumptious and written easily for use by all levels of cooks. THE BISTROS, BRASSERIES AND WINE BARS OF PARIS should be included into all well stocked home cook book libraries. Want something different and delicious for a meal? Try the Provincial Style Stuffed Vegetables and your family will bless you! To add even more wealth to this book, Daniel Young concludes with a great section that gives specific names, addresses, and reviews of actual bistros, brasseries, and wine bars in Paris, France. You just can not miss with this 'more that a cook book' book!
