Overview

As seen on TV's Deadly Women series, this is the true story of Colorado murderess Sharon Lynn Nelson who conspired with her mountain man lover Gary Adams to kill two of her husbands. That's right TWO.

Includes an all-new foreword by M. William Phelps, 2011, Investigative journalist, author of 20 books, creator and star of Investigation Discovery’s “Dark Minds”

When the body of 45-year-old Glen Harrelson was found in his Denver home, police tried to contact his wife, but soon they made a startling realization. She had played the part of grieving widow once before: her previous husband also had died a mysterious accidental death...

In a true story as shocking as any fiction, Bitch on Wheels is the amazing account of Sharon Lynn Nelson, a wild, beautiful preacher's wife who couldn't get enough-enough sex, enough money, or enough of her rugged "Mountain Man" lover, Gary Adams. Nelson was so consumed by greed that she convinced Adams to killed two of her three husbands in order to cash in on their insurance policies.

Here is a compelling portrait of a woman driven by the darkest forces to mate, then kill--an American black widow who ultimately got snared in her own twisted web...

Editorial Reviews

Publisher's Weekly - Reed Business
True-crime author Olsen tells how Sharon Nelson, a Colorado woman, had her lover Gary Adams murder two of her three husbands, one in 1983 and one in 1988. But more interesting than the crime itself is Olsen's portrait of Nelson as a brash, trashy, manipulative sexpot who believed that she was entitled to?and got?everything and everyone she wanted: even her confession, given freely to police in a Pizza Hut in 1988, was anything but contrite.-- Publisher's Weekly

    True and Perfect

Another great book by Olsen. Could not put it down. LOVE this kind of book. Most true crime writers aren't half as good.

How I wish I'd not broken my rule of never ordering a book before reading the free sample first! This book was poorly written in a style reminiscent of pulp fiction/ world news. The author jumped back and forth in time frequently, causing confusion. While Sharon Harrelson was truly evil, I disliked that all women portrayed in this book whined, manipulated and cajoled, while the male victims were portrayed as good guys- including the serial philanderer who abandoned his wife and children for Sharon.

    My advice? Read the sample.

    Pretty good!

Tragic but interesting. I still can't figure out what this woman had that made people do her dirty work.

    Good Read

Was disappointed in this book, it's not as good as his other books. Too much of history in the characters past that made this book drag. However, it doesn't make me not try to read his other books, that I haven't read yet.

    Interesting but not in depth

The story was interesting but didn't dig deep enough into her or her lovers' psyche.

    So-so

I love to read true crime. This is a true story but the way the author writes it is very juvenile, which takes a lot away from the story.

Good story but horribly written. He constantly jumps from one time period to the next and it takes a few to realize what time period he is. Very unorganized. The story was good, but the way it was written was confusing and took away from the story. Ann Rule or M. William Phelps are much better authors if you are looking for true crime.
