Overview

Vampire Valentine by Lynsay Sands

Mirabeau LaRouche knew she had a job to do, but she never expected her assignment to take her through New York City's dark, dank underground-in her bridesmaid gown, no less! And when her partner turns out to be mortal private investigator Tiny McGraw, Mireabeau knows it's no ordinary Cupid's arrow that has struck her heart this Valentine's Day.

Hearts Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Ten years ago Zeeland left D.C. to join the Therian Guard, needing to put some distance between himself and the still-too-young Julianne. Now he's returned, in the midst of a Valentine's celebration to find Julianne more beautiful than ever, still angry at him for leaving, and up to her lovely eyebrows in an intrigue that threatens both of their immortal lives.

Kiss and Kill Cupid by Jamie Rush

Kat Morgan has no use for Valentine's Day, since hearing other people's thoughts puts a real damper on any kind of intimate relationship. When she overhears the Killer Cupid serial killer targeting her for his Valentine's Day murder, Kat is terrified. But is Adrian, the one man whose thoughts she can't hear, her savior, or killer?

Good To Know

1.) I started The Deed (my first romantic comedy and the first book to be published) a year after my mother's death. I was very close to my mother and the year following her death was about the most miserable time imaginable. But then I decided I was tired of being down and unhappy, and looked around for something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When I couldn't find anything, I decided to sit down and write my own. It worked! Emmalene and Amaury's antics in The The Deed had me chuckling as I wrote.
2.) I met my husband in New York in July 2003. I was there because of the RWA conference and he was there on vacation. The first day there we kept running into each other and chatting in front of the hotel, and then he asked to join our group (it was very brave of him. He was the lone male amongst six or seven women, lol). He's a Brit and I'm Canadian and the first two months of our relationship were conducted by phone as well as over the internet. Our first date was a week in New York in September, followed by three weeks in England. He then came to Canada in both November and December, the first time to propose and the second time for Christmas with my family and then to take me back to England with him for New Years. I lived in Northern England for two years. We married in New York and now live in Canada.
3.) I was writing about my husband before I met him. Single White Vampire came out in September 2003 and I took a copy with me to England when I went for the three weeks. I walked into my now-hubby's house to find at least six months worth of mail unopened and stacked up on a shelf inside the front door. When I stopped dead, eyes going wide with shock and asked "My God. That's mail. You don't open your mail?" He looked embarrassed and muttered some explanation about bills automatically being paid by the bank so no need to open those and everything else was unsolicited and he couldn't be bothered. When I burst out laughing, he started to frown and said "What?" My response was to dig out the copy of Single White Vampire and hand it over with the suggestion he read it. The mail thing wasn't the only similarity he had to Lucern Argeneau. There are many more and when he sat down to read the book, he kept stopping and turning a rather startled and even suspicious gaze my way and muttering that this sounded familiar" or that did. I had to point out that it really was coincidence, that I had written that story at least nine months before meeting him. LOL.

    Oh my!

So I got this book when I was finishing the Argeneau Vampire series by Ms. Sands. And I was very excited to finally hear Tiny's story. Usually when I get these short story books with several authors including their own stories, I only stick to the one that I want to read. However, with this one I took a chance and continued reading, and boy oh boy was I happy I did. Both Ms. Palmer and Ms. Rush did a great job at providing their own stories and even so much so that I have now started researching what books they have and will eventually move on to read them. When ending a series it is always heart wrenching to say "goodbye" to those characters I have grown to love and adore and often expect in my life, so I am glad I have two other authors to explore. If you are looking for a different take on the paranormal road, then I recommend this book to read. It was offer you insight into different views of those paths and even includes a little romance and some nice steamy sexy scenes. All three authors also have a bit of a sense of humor and I found myself laughing out loud at times. Enjoy, its a must read!

    It is good

Lynsay Sands part in the book was not long enough to really get into detail of the story. I wish it was a book of it self telling more of tiny and mirabeau story. Although the other two authors were really good, I just wanted more from Sands. I love her work, this book is really good but as a lynsay fan, would of really enjoyed more of tiny and mirabeau.

    Only Read Lynsay Sands

I only purchased this book for Tiny's story in the Argeneau series & this was probably the most disappointing story of them all. It was too short... it seemed like there were parts missing & it ended waaayyyy to early.

    Fun & Sexy read

This book was like a meal...
Vampire Valentine by Lynsay Sands - I checked this book out at the Library because I am currently working my way through this series. This one was a fun story, no meat just some yummy potatoes. I like Tinys' character so I was happy to have a story with him but.... I don't know I just wish this was a full book. Worth the read though check it out.
Hearts untamed by Pamela Palmer - Absolutely sexy meaty story. I love Palmer's Feral warrior series so I was pleasantly surprised to discovered this short story in there. Hot & sexy alpha male Zeeland & Julianne are sizzling in this one. Great short story.
Kiss and Kill Cupid by Jamie rush - Well here is your side salad with your meal. I love salads but if that was all there was you would still be hungry for more. Fun short story to round out the book.
Bottom line, check it out from the library before your decide if you want it for your permanent library.

    OK but......

Love every book I have read by Lynsay Sands and was happy to see Tiny get his own story. However the book ended before the tale was done. Felt more like a bridge between books rather than a stand alone story, I am still waiting to find out how it will end. Other two authors were ok and I might check out their other books. 231 pages for three stories was just too short to develop characters and the quality did not justify the price. Overall a disappointment.

    Good book

I bought this book solely for Lynsay Sands' portion. I was excited that Tiny found his own lifemate, but I would have loved a full-length novel for him. The assignment given to Tiny and Mirabeau could have led to a longer story. However, I did thoroughly enjoy it, short as it was. I also enjoyed Kiss and Kill by Jamie Rush, and I'm interested in reading more of her stuff now. I haven't read Hearts Untamed yet.

    3 fun short stories

Always a pleasure to read a Lynsay Sands story. I also enjoyed the other two included in this book. I often choose compilations as a way to 'interview' an author I am not familiar with when paired with an author I really enjoy. This book was 3 enjoyable stories by 3 authors I will be sure to continue following.

    Too short

I understand this was a book of anthologies, but the story by Lynsay Sands was way too short. I was looking forward to more information about Tiny.

    LOVED ALL THREE STORIES

IT'S NOT VERY OFTEN YOU LIKE ALL THREE STORIES IN AN ANTHOLOGY.
I HAVE READ SANDS AND ALWAYS LOVED HER WRITING STYLE...PALMER'S STORIES
HAVE BEEN A ENTERTAINING AND I'M AWAITING FOR THE NEXT IN THE FERAL WARRIOR SERIES IN JUN....THIS WAS THE FIRST I HAVE READ OF RUSH, BUT I'M ALREADY ON THE HUNT FOR HER PRIOR NOVELS...

DEFINATELY AN ANTHOLOGY THAT YOU'LL READ COVER TO COVER AND NOT JUST ONE OR TWO STORIES

Not what i thought it would be...

Was just ok for me. I bought this book because I am a Lynsay Sands fan, and could not wait to read about Tiny's adventure. Was left felling a little cheated on his story.

Bitten by Cupid by Linsay Sands

I bought this book for the Linsay Sands story of Tiny, a character I knew from early book in her "Argeneau Series" entitled "Vampire Interrupted". I love her series and couldn't wait for this to come out. I read the rest of the stories in this book and enjoyed them very much too, that was a welcomed surprise. This is an extremely good read for anyone who loves paranormal romances with fun twist and turns.

    3 great authors

I bought this book for the Lynsay Sands Novella. However I was thrilled to be introduced to two new authors that I enjoyed so much I promptly ordered books by those authors and found them to be as good as the Novellas that introduced me to them. I would recommend this book to everyone and urge everyone to check out the full length books by those authors in particular the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands.

    Interesting combination

This book is 3 novels in one. Which would be fine if there were more to each story.
The first story, Vampire Valentine if Tiny McGraw's story. And the idea was good. But there was not enough of it. Usually Lynsay's stories are the amount of this whole book yet this book was 3 stories. I liked the story but Tiny should have had his own book.
The 2nd story was Hearts Untamed by Pamela Palmer. I can't review this one. I couldn't get past the first 3 pages. I found it horrible and could not get into it. So on to the 3rd story I went.
The 3rd story was Kiss & Kill Cupid by Jaime Rush. This was a good story and unique in that it was not about Vampires but 2 people that shared a "unique gift" of their minds. I liked it but again, would have liked to have these characters be in their own book instead of sharing space. But it was good.

The idea's behind Stories 1 & 3 were awesome. Just should have been more. Not sure I can recommend it and I felt disappointed or "cheated".
