From the Publisher
Oversize, digital images of the titular bear in lively scenes keep the project moving along to the playful conclusion, which is revealed with a sliding panel: The treehouse actually doubles as a rocket ship, with Bizzy Bear peeking out of the upper porthole. ... The sliding panels are strong and sturdy. ... From the hammer on the cover that readers can "swing" to the treehouse door little ones can open and close, the interactive elements steal the show.

Children's Literature - Barbara L. Talcroft
“A BIG book for little paws!” The “Bizzy Bear” series of board books for the very young comes to us from London illustrator Davies, producer of a long list of interactive books with Bizzy as hero. In this volume, small adventurers can work with interactive tools to build a structure that’s a surprise (some sharp-eyed viewers may discover clues). The digitally produced pictures are big and bright, like Bizzy himself and his helper friends: an emerald-green frog, a grey elephant in a red hat, and a peach-colored rabbit wearing a purple T-shirt. Starting with the cover, little builders hammer nails, use a sliding tape measure, operate a saw, turn on a drill (it’s the best one!), and brush with bright red paint. As the friends break for lemonade, kids can turn a wheel and watch fishpond life and passing birds, clouds, and planes in the sky. The last board is fun, too, as the friends pop up and peek out from little flaps. With some care, the sturdy, oversized book (about nine inches square) should last for quite a while; the moving parts operate smoothly, except for the saw (adults might want to try it first to make sure kids get the hang of it and hear the sawing noise). Little workers who have fun with Bizzy will probably enjoy playing with him again in Let’s Get to Work! and Fire Rescue! (Nosy Crow, 2012 and 2013) or their choice of many other Bizzy books by Davies. Reviewer: Barbara L. Talcroft; Ages 1 to 4.

Bizzy Bear and his gang of helpful critter friends build a treehouse together, while readers operate various tools. Larger than other titles in the Bizzy Bear series, the book also offers an interactive element on each page. Flaps become the doors of vehicles and the lids of tool boxes; a sliding panel moves a saw back and forth or allows readers to manipulate a measuring tape; a spin dial on the side of the book activates a power drill and more. The simple prose describes the actions of Bizzy Bear and company in one or two sentences. Oversize, digital images of the titular bear in lively scenes keep the project moving along to the playful conclusion, which is revealed with a sliding panel: The treehouse actually doubles as a rocket ship, with Bizzy Bear peeking out of the upper porthole. While the flaps may not last more than a dozen readings, the sliding panels are strong and sturdy. The saw is difficult to manipulate, however, as it is evidently serrated for verisimilitude, and may require some adult intervention. From the hammer on the cover that readers can "swing" to the treehouse door little ones can open and close, the interactive elements steal the show. (Board book. 2-4)
