He loves her blood, but does her love her?!

R to L (Japanese Style). He loves her blood, but does her love her?!

There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. All that changes one day when Misao is attacked by a demon. Her childhood friend Kyo suddenly returns to save her and tend to her cuts—with his tongue! It turns out Misao is the bride of prophecy, whose blood gives power to the demon clan who claims her. But most demons want to keep her power for themselves—by eating her! Now Misao is just trying to stay alive...and decide if she likes it when Kyo licks her wounds.

Volume 3: Misao is starting to trust her heart where Kyo is involved, especially after he gives her one of his primary feathers. It isn't just her first present from him, it's a magic talisman that will keep her safe when he's not nearby! Misao is elated to be able to go to school without the fear of being eaten, just like a normal teenage girl. But as her feelings for Kyo deepen, she starts to realize that as his bride she will have to leave her human life behind—including her family!

Wow, when you think the author couldn't throw in anymore surprises in this manga she does it yet again in this 3rd volume. One thing I forgot to mention in my 2 other reviews (vol 1 and vol 2) is that the senka maiden and her demon lover have not consummated their relationship which is a main requirement to ensure the clan leader's position and his clan's prosperity. It is because of this twist that the senka maiden (the heroine aka Misao Harada) is hesitant to go "all the way" with her demon lover (aka Kyo Usui, clan leader of the tengu). Doesn't love factor into all of this?? To top it all off, the different leaders of the demon clans are after the senka maiden for the same thing (in this volume the head of the kitsune clan is making sure he gets her)! What's a girl to do?? This is the new twist in the ever burgeoning (I said burgeoning in my vol 2 review so of course it should be described as such in this volume) romance of the senka maiden and her demon lover and I am glad the author does this because it should show how their relationship should develop under these trying circumstances. I still reiterate that this manga is for readers aged 18+ and don't think it's drama all the way because this author interspersed comedy here and there in several panels.

That cover. Oh yeah they are so in love aren't they? Anyway, this was just who will she choose? Does she love him and all that? And the guy is not making this easier is he? He's just a bit possessive and creepy. He makes Edward Cullen look like a gentlemen. A creepy stalker sure, but a gentlemen none the less. And we're just on the third volume for crying out loud. So why can't I stop reading?
