BEST MANGA EVER!!!!!!!!!! Black Butler is dark, violent, beautiful, funny, sweet, and does not have a happy ending. I LOVE Ciel. He is my dream boy and I'm not afraiud to admit it. It is the perfect manga. I have the deepest respect for Yana Toboso.The anime is just as amazing too if not more. STAY SEXY SABASTIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;P

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

This is an amazing book, the art is beautiful, the characters are brilliant, but my favorite part, is the plot! I had watched the Anima series first, so I know what Sebastian is... But I love this! I can't wait to buy book 2! :D

FANTASTIC. Dark, the way I like it, with compelling characters (especially Sebastian). Good for anyone trying out manga for the first time, as it's pretty easy to follow.

Very good read

Everyday adventures of Ciel, head of the Phantomhive family and his butler, Sebastian and the other servants in the household. This was an interesting and very good read. The drawings is detailed and well done. Plus the food looks pretty good. Looking forward to reading the next volume.

A MUST READ!

All my friends like this series, so I thought I'd try it out and boy was I amazed! I found myself falling way in love with the series (and the characters). I cannot wait for the rest of the series to come out in English as well as season 2 of the anime.

Okay, so at the beginning you are probably thinking, "How can they make a manga out of this?!" Well they can, and the plot gets awesomer as it goes on. So just suck it up and read it! Or I will personally track you down and kill you!

I'm very picky about what mangas I read and what animes I watch. Black Butler is dark, exciting, has an excellent plot, and rather complex characters. I prefer the manga, but the anime is fantastic as well. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a good read.

This whole entire series is just amazing.<3 I've seen both seasons of the anime and read all of the chapters that are currently available. Words can truly not describe how much I love this series. The art in the manga is breathtaking and the story line is fantastic. I definetely recommend this book.~

AMAZING.

I absolutely adore the Victorian era, butlers, and hot anime guys. This series has all of that. I watched the anime first, and I was sure that the manga couldn't live up to it, but boy was I surprised!The manga is every bit as good as the anime if not better. READ IT.

Force yourself past the first volume

My friends reccomended this with great enthusiasm, and I'll be honest, the first volume wan't to make me just put it down. The first and second chapters are horribly predictable and boring, but once you get past it, it's so funny, dramatic and fantastical. The later volumes have such depth and realistic drama that I keep having to read it over and over. It's a great read for those who love dark fantasy and some mystery.

This is actually the only manga I've ever read (and probably will ever read, since I'm not really into the whole anime/manga thing) and I have to say, I'm very impressed! The characters are amazing (I LOVE Sebastian and Ciel), the story is well-written, and the plot is very intriguing. Also, the art is absolutely impeccable! I would never have guessed a manga could actually be this good :D I certainly recommend it!

Interesting first book to a series

I think the best things about this manga are the illustrations. I confess, I bought it because of the cover art. It also makes for a very interesting story, however the overall plot is similar to the manga Hellsing. I would definitely recommend it though, and I will surely read the 2nd and 3rd mangas when they are released in paperback.

i think i am i love

i think i am in love not only w/the book but also w/sebastian. i didnt know nothin bout Black Butler til my neice told me bout it. shes the manga addict. so i went online & read Black Butler. next thing i knew i was in love sebastian. he can be my butler anytime. Sebastian Michaels, a demonic butler/servant to 12yr old Ciel Phantomhive, a rich kid who's head of a toy and family empire. Black Butler is a great series even though i only have the 1st edtion (the 2nd book is waitin for me at the store). soon as i saw this edition in the store i grabbed it rite offa the shelf, purchased it & read in under 1hr. i cant wait to read the next one.

I've read and watched Black Butler. It's very good. I love to read it over and over again. It's an enjoyable book.

Not easy to forget...

I heard of this manga from my friends some time near the middle of last year. I must say, I was curious, and when I first opened the booklet, I was sucked into it's beautiful alternate world. The story uses gothic aesthetics, while maintaining some things in our modern world. I instantly wanted to live there! And I find the little heir to be quite adorable. And may I add, Sebastian Michealis is one HELL of a butler. (Pun not neccesarily intended.) This may have humour every once in a while, but action glows in this story in some way or form. Not to mention all the little hints in the series, if you catch my drift.

I recommend it to anyone who likes dark, humour and thrill!

Demon Butlers, Batman!

What can I say?
Well, I bought the manga after hearing from my friends about it, practically non stop, and had to know what the hubbub was about.
Now, Im a big manga fan, and did research on the characters and general plot before buying and after buying and reading this manga I must say it's simply great.
If you're into the dark yet hilarious manga series, you'll love this. Wether you come for the violence, or for the sillyness, you'll definitely stay for the wonderful cast. The Characters drew me into this manga like a moth to a flame, and I eagerly await the next volume.

I love, love, LOVE this series!

If you like manga that has a good plot, is a little bit darker, and has really good art, read kuroshisuji. I've already read the series in japanese and trust me the series gets even better, though I didn't think it was possible. Yana Toboso's art is some of the best I've ever seen, so I definitely recomend this as my favorite!
