Overview

FOR the most wild, yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen, I neither expect nor solicit belief. Mad indeed would I be to expect it, in a case where my very senses reject their own evidence. Yet, mad am I not-and very surely do I not dream. But to-morrow I die, and to-day I would unburthen my soul. My immediate purpose is to place before the world, plainly, succinctly, and without comment, a series of mere household events. In their consequences, these events have terrified-have tortured-have destroyed me. Yet I will not attempt to expound them. To me, they have presented little but Horror-to many they will seem less terrible than barroques. Hereafter, perhaps, some intellect may be found which will reduce my phantasm to the common-place-some intellect more calm, more logical, and far less excitable than my own, which will perceive, in the circumstances I detail with awe, nothing more than an ordinary succession of very natural causes and effects.

I love Edgar Allan Poe is a great author I'm facinated by his style, he's dark and glommy but also sarcastic and funny. The black cat is a great storie, it shows how easily you can tormente a person, making them go crazy. It also embrasses the sphycopath inside and the clevernest and crazinest of a killer.

A most gripping story yet. The black cat presonifies the wife because she sweet and loving while the husband on the other hand despises her. When he decides to do away with the black cat with an ax, his wife is the one that dies.

Love him or hate him You either love or hate Poe's work. I love him and his writing style and this does not disappoint.

I wrote a story about a black cat, I haven't heard of this, and so I'm not sure if it's similar..I had wrote of a demonic black cat that would only come out at night, and has only black holes for eyes and sharp protruding teeth. And tortures with it's demonic game. By the end the cat had torn out the eyes of the person it was constantly torturing by night.

Edgar Allan Poe We all know the extrordinarie works of Edgar Allan Poe but he still seems to take us by suprise. With a title like that you think that Snow White is a scary storie but you are dead wrong. This is a thrilling mind blowing storie that makes you think twice before buying a cat.I knew that cats had 9 lives but he's like 'Jason'from 'Friday the thirdteen'he just keeps coming back. And trust me when you read this book you will see that his a animal lover and a loving husband.

Robert Poe does a fantastic job at taking his relatives book and making one of the best adaptations i have read from any Poe story. As you read, you feel like your an detective and don't be surprised if you find yourself writing down who you think the killer is. Always fast paced and always a twist around every corner. One will also see how religion, prejudice and the Wicca culture conme into play in this book, soon to be a classic.
