This story reminds me a modern day African American Bonnie and Clyde. The young lady in the story looks for love in all the wrong places, but at the end she finds the one true person and love that she would not only kill for but if have to, die for. It's true that love makes you do crazy things, and Donald Goines does a excellent job of showing how two young people lived a dangersous lifestyle, but remained true to the love they shared and was willing to die in the name of love. I believe that the young lady started out as a Black Girl Lost, but ended up as Black Girl Found. She was able to find the one thing that makes the world go round and was willing to risk it all. I read this book in a few hours and I highly reccommend it to anyone that is a sucker for love, action and a dramatic ended, then I highly reccommend this book.

This is one of my favorite books.  The story really touched my heart because of the way the main character struggled, found love, then drama, and tragedy.  I would recommend this book.

A compelling novel that pulls at the strings of my heart. I could relate to Sandra and I know many other black girls could to. Goines did such a notable job portraying life on the streets for young black girls. and to think she had not yet graduated high school. Absolutely captivating job well done.. A you will not put down story.

This book was grimey, touching, and tragic. I've never felt so close to a character. Goines's tale of life and love on the harsh streets was like none other...

This was a really good read, short but good i finished before the day was out. what the sad thig is , is that this story is still being told by so many young girls today. why hasn't anything changed in this world but the drugs that people used. instead of drunks their are crack heads, ex pill feinds, change?

If you are a fan of this book, check out Holland Hustle by Patrick Martin. I was a huge Donald Goines fan and his writings (along with others) influenced my style. Holland Hustle will be a three to four book series, with the first book already available. Please support and spread the word of a young author.

I read this book many years ago during a rough time in my life..I was homeless and depressed. Sleeping out of a car I had alot of spare time and I came across this book, it changed my life. I didn't like to read but once I started I was hooked. I've been a reader every since, I have read 5 of Donald Goines books and I loved them all.

My uncle gave me this book he use to read Donald Goines books while he was locked up. I am very impressed since I've always been more on Omar Tyree's books. This was the first book I read of his and I read it in one day, I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to read the whole series.

I'm the type who never reads, but my sister read this book when she was my age & she loved it, so she decided to let me read it. She didn't tell me anything about it becuase she said she would ruin it for me, because evrything in this book was just great that you could only believe it for yourself. So once i started reading, i was automatically hooked. I can't even explain to how turn-paging this was. This book was about a girl who relli had nothing until she found love. But to warn you, the ending was a complete shock for me, actually even made me cry, but it was a GREAT ending for a GREAT book. I recomend all teenage girls to read this one, even if you hate reading as much as i used to, you'll definitely find yourself unable to stop reading and put it down.

My step mother bought this book for me when I was barely a teenager. Black Girl Lost is the first book that I was interested enough to read in one day. I'm 30+ and read it again recently, and it is as great as it was Years ago when I read it for the first time... I just bought the book for my step daughter... It is really an awesome read. The book reads like a movie...

This was a great book! I have really enjoyed all of Donald Goines books. All of his books has been based on the truth. Even his book titled 'Never Die Alone' it's the same way Donald Goines and his wife died. Soooo, to all of you Donald Goines fans that are looking for a sequel to this book...Unfortunately, we will not get one. Donald Gaines Born 1937-1974.

The book was basicly about a teenage girl lost on the srteets trying to find a way out. She is using all the wrong ways to get out of what she is lost in. Like doing drugs and shoplifting. She also faces meeting the wrong person who led her to even deeper situations like love, affection, murder and rape.
