A serial killer is stalking women of the vampire community in BL

A serial killer is stalking women of the vampire community in BLACK HEART by Morgan Dreiss. Now he has turned to werewolf women. His signature is to dress them in white dress then dump them on the street minus their hearts. Annie Goldstein is missing. Is she one of his? Her lover, Nasira, will stop at nothing to find her but will she be in time?

I liked BLACK HEART. It is different. I hoped Nasira would find Annie but there was no guarantee she would. Much of the story was told through Nasira’s eyes but we got the story from Annie’s eyes when she is kidnapped. I liked how the story then went back and forth between the two women. As the reader I knew what was happening on both sides but it did not stop me from worrying if Annie would make it. What a horrid man the villain was. I was happy with the ending. It did not cause me to lose any sleep.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

    more from this reviewer

I more than liked Black Heart, and I sincerely hope this is only

I more than liked Black Heart, and I sincerely hope this is only the beginning for Nasira and Annie. Short stories work for me if they have 2 things: Strong characters that are endearing right away, and a conflict that unfolds at breakneck speed~ this book had both, along with a cast of all my favorite para-normals. I really enjoyed what the author was doing here - wit, edge, and non conforming to the stereotypes we have grown to accept in the Para/Fantasy genre made this unique, and held me till the end. There were some serious editing issues, that would not allow me to rate it higher than a 3.5, but if corrected, would take this book from like to love for me. The world of paranormal fantasy/romance needs more original voices like this one. It is not the only reason I think this story was a success, but it bears mentioning ~ the young couple in love in this story is not made of the para + human persuasion, but instead is vampire + werewolf = love. They also happen to be lesbians (it rocks, I know)... so if you are ready for a fresh voice, and a new view on an old favorite- read this book, hell you may want to watch this author~ I know I will.

I enjoyed this book I just wish it were longer.maybe give more information on the characters. It has a good beginning and ending but I guess I was looking for more interaction as a reader with the characters.I would read more of her  work for the story itself was great. Humans being the bad guy instead of  the vampire or werewolf. Kept my attention all the way through.A different twist on a PRN  story. I also posted a more in depth review on smashwords. w

Black Heart by Morgan Dreiss I was given this R2R through Libra

    Black Heart by Morgan Dreiss

I was given this R2R through LibraryThing in exchange for my honest review.

This is the story of paras in New York City. They have been known to the public for quite some time, however most still don't accept them.

Nasira is a wealthy business owner. She is well educated and very well put together. She is also a vampire.

Her girlfriend is Annie. Annie is the complete opposite. She's a mess. She owns a tattoo business. She also sells meth and weed. Her consist weed smoking and drinking cause her to be very short tempered. Not to mention she is a werewolf.

Nasira has been on edge with a serial killer in town, picking off female vamps. But when the killer discards a werewolf body, it gets even worse.

I liked this story. It was an interesting take on a PNR. The story was well written, and all the loose ends were tied up. I know what happened and what is going to happen, and am not left wondering. It is about time a book is ended properly.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to come along on the rescue mission.
