V. Brown’s “Black Ice” is the sequel to “Broken Promise.” Promise meets the man that she would fall in love with, Dezman. He’s a ball player and he sweeps her off her feet. Just when Promise thought things were getting hot and heavy with Dez, he leaves the state and disappears on her. Heartbroken she sets out to find him with the help of her friend. They travel to Boston to look for him.
“Black Ice” does a great job of answering all questions and it leaves a surprise ending that I truly did not expect. I like the twists and the turns in this book. The author truly does a wonderful job of keeping you interested from the first page and not letting up until the end of the book. The story had a great flow and you can follow everything as its happening. The title was appropriate and it flowed with the storyline. I thought “Black Ice” was excellent and I can’t wait to read other books by this author.

I truly enjoyed this book, even though it seemed to get a little slow in the middle of the book; however, the ending made up for the not so exciting middle! I love the twists and turns and was simply at awe. You need to list this book on your books to read ... read BROKEN PROMISE first! Author V Brown is AWESOME ... I think a third book in this series needs to be penned immediately! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This book.....How can i write a review on something that was so epic?Black Ice is the second installment of Broken Promise. In this part we follow the main character as she has grown accustomed to her life of living big and glamorous. All that is good but her past followed her and at times tried to end her. I liked the way that the authorpainted the main characters storu. There were times thst i truly felt for Promise, there was times when i was even frustrated with het. Overall, i couldnt stop reading this book because it had me at hello. The first page grabs you in a choke hold and squeezes the life out of you until youre left at the end feeling as though youve come out of a comma. I was happy at the end because she finally found happiness and got a chance at real life. Im sure my review is jumpy but if you know like i know, you would go ahead and jump on this book. It deserves more than just five stars. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Stayed up last night so that I could finish this book. Let me tell you that if you read part one (Broken Promise) then you have to read this part to fill in any unanswered questions you might have from part one. It's even better if you read it back to back but if you dont this part pick right up where one ended so even if you havent read one in a while it will all come back to you.
Promise has finally had her baby, and after a few months of trying to get back to her old self, her and her new girl pal Monica are headed on a mission to Boston. On this mission Promise is hoping to find some answers as well as track down her deadbeat baby father. With these girls first things first and thats money so while out on the town the two of them run into various obstacles and experience different things. Promise does realize after meeting Rare Bread who happens to be the hottest rapper out that she needs to get back to being focused on why she was out in Boston. While Promise is out in Boston her mom is at her home taking care of the baby. Sweat Pea is doing a great job taking care of the baby until she receives a letter in the mail that scares her. Monica on the other hand is all the way gone and is only worried about money....sort of. Black Ice is back on the sceen but can any good come from it? She feels like her fiance is slowly slipping away from her and she is trying everything possible to real him back in.
I really enjoyed this book the author did a great job showing all of the characters that once again you felt like you were a part of the book. So much happened in this book that answered the questions that where left out in the open in book one. So much came together the characters in the book and why they were doing what they were doing, the twist and the turns were crazy. Monica really got on my nerve it was like she was a kid in the candy store playing a big girls game and she didnt know what to do, and towards the end she just totally shocks me. There were times that i felt bad for Promise but im sure some of her obstacles could have been avoided. This book will have you shaking your head, yelling at the characters and everything else. Overall I enjoyed this book and cant wait to see what else this author has in store for her readers!

The seequel had me on my toes. Broken Promises dont always end the way you may think. Sometimes they do a 360 and show you that when life throws you lemons, you have to do whatever you can to make lemonade. ~Black IceWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This follow up wasfilled with the unexpected. A few laughs and some serious undertones. This picked up right where Broken Promise left off. What's next from V Brown?
