Ok, honestly, when I heard Black is for Beginnings was going to be a graphic novel I wanted to cry. The first books were some of the best I read in a long time and they were writted amazingly. The only reason I even bothered with BIFB is because i wanted to see what happened next with Stacey and Jacob. I really wish she made this a regular novel. This was short and kind of stupid. I'm in love with the series, and i'm just beyond disapointed that this had to be a graphic novel. The emotion, and drama didn't convert to the graphic novel what so ever. All in all, this book just SUCKS.

I loved this series and was very excited when I heard there was going to be a fifth but then I saw that it was a graphic novel and I was dissapointed. I loved the first four books and this one was good too but not as good. I just got it today and I've already finished it. This book is a very quick read but has a good outcome. I loved this series all together.

I was wary of buying a graphic novel. I thought it was just a bad idea for this series in the first place, but figured I might as well give it a try... well I bought it about an hour ago and I'm already done reading it. The book doesn't really tell you much except you get to know a little more about Jacob. Is this going to be a continuing series of graphic novels or was this just to satisfy fans who wanted more BIFN? This was pure crap... the artwork was lovely, but I feel like there are too many underlying things in the books you can't put into a graphic novel and felt like they began to tell the story at the very end of this book. The last page reads "The End" so if it is the end of the BIFN series, I would have rather have had a cliffhanger from Red is for Remembrance than this. I would advise not to buy it, it was a waste of my $10 and my time. It recaps everything in the last 4 books... ANNOYING! I wish Laurie would write in regular form if she is going to continue the series... I loved the series and felt like I was in the book, but this made me feel stupid for reading it. Maybe if it were longer but 160 pages is not long when there is so little text. UGH! I'm just really upset about this. I feel like I don't have my friends :Amber, Drea, Stacey, and PJ just a bunch of imposters. They had no character, and were really flat... hope this helps!

I read this in one sitting, but then I went back and read it again for the graphics and putting everything together. I love this. I love seeing my favorite characters of all time. And, how amazing was that last scene. I'm still high on this book!!!

I am so dissapointed! I have been counting down the days until this book came out. I was so excited to read about the characters and find out their big secrets. Laurie Stolarz is my favorite author, but this was a terrible idea to make it into a graphic novel. I hope she writes in regular format just like she did for books blue-red. I wouldn't buy it becuase it is just a waist of your money. The stories are phenomenal, I still can't believe Laurie Stolarz did this. It is very dissapointing.

i LOVE the series and i was really excited when i found out that there was goin be another book. but then when i found out that it was gonna be a graphic novel my heart just sunk. i think that the idea of graphic novels is stupid! picture books are for kids and layouts in books like this are meant for comics. books r novels. and thats what being a good writter is about. to have such a wonderful book that it creates a movie in the person reading its head with out having it to be drawn out in front of them. i just really hope that she didnt ruin the series by doing this....cuz i dont think that this book can and will live up to the standrads for the four before it.

This was a good ending to the Blue Is for Nightmare series. I was a tad disappointed to see that it wasn't an actual book, but i still enjoyed it.

This was amazing. I never thought I'd like graphic novels and manga stuff, but this was so fun to read, especially if you like the series. I loved seeing the freaky basement scene in White. I highly recommend this to fans of the series. Great last scene. I hope she does another.

All I can say is I can't believe this is a graphic novel! I'm sorry but her writing BOOKS is better than a graphic novel!! And in my opinion no book could ever beat White is for Magic.

I absolutely love this series. I faithfully own and read the books with much love for the characters and plots. When I found out that the next novel would be a graphic novel, I was highly disappointed. I do not enjoy graphic novels, and much prefer your typical written, no pictures, classic novel. Still, I will give it a chance. I can only hope that sometime in the near future, Stolarz will come out with BIFB in the classic novel format. I do appreciate her giving this way a chance, though. I respect her decision as an author, but I'm not going to lie - I'm quite skeptical.

I know that this book comes out in September, but I just have to say...I'm nervous for this book. I was all excited when I found out there was going to be another in the series! I fell in love with the other four books! Then I found out that this book was to be a graphic novel...that brought me down a lot! I don't like graphic novels at all, pictures in books just drive me nuts! I like to see a picture of what's happening by the detail of the book, my mind creates a movie of what's happening while I'm reading and that's so much better than any picture a person could draw out to show. Then I also found out that this book is going to reveal a huge secret about Stacey's and Jacob's past,so now I absolutely have to read it! Still a little worried about how this whole graphic novel is going to go, but I'm determined to find out what happens. I pray that it's better than other graphic novels I have seen, and it probably will be because it's part of a series that I love. If you haven't read the rest of the series I definately recommend them! They are amazing!

The book isn't out yet but I hope the image presented isn't going to be the cover. I've loved the classic one candle, pretty scripted title, and hidden phrased words of the last four books. I've waited for this next one for a very long time and am happy it is finally here but I don't want the cover to look like its a nine or ten year old's book.

At first I was disappointed that is was pictures because I thought it would be another booked telling her ending of what happened but then I kinda did get into it because it was good to see how the characters actually look like and it was a good book I reread it agin like twice so I totally recommend to read the book .

This was okay. I thought at first it was going to be a regular book. Figure since the other 4 were books. Then this would also be the same. Then saw that it wasn't and thought okay, still read it though. And found it to be okay. The drawings were alright. Story okay too.

After reading the reviews that the author decided to turn the last book into a graphic novel, I was very upset and disappointed. I will not be buying this since many have said you can barely read it. I dont know what possessed the author to do this. I am hoping the author may have written it in novel form after this, but I dont think she has. This was such a great series and loved the first four books. I hope this does not become a trend with this author. She just totally ruined it by turning this fantastic series, especially the last book into a graphic novel.
