1993 stieg Gitarrist Ritchie Blackmore aus der Rockband Deep Purple aus, mit denen er seit der Gründung 1968 bis 1975 und dann wieder seit 1984 gespielt hatte. In der Pause zwischen '75 und '84 leitete er die Rockgruppe Rainbow, die er dann 1994 wieder reaktivierte, um 1995 das Album Stranger in Us All zu veröffentlichen. Mit der neuen Besetzung (Sänger Doogie White, Keyboarder Paul Morris, Bassist Greg Smith und Drummer Chuck Bürgi) tourte er dann auch, und ein am 9.
