Black Shark Soul [NOOK Book]

Overview

There is a black shark swimming through her; through the fluids of her sex and the saliva in her mouth, through the aqueous humor that fills her eyes and the blood that pounds mercilessly in her veins. Its great sweeping tail is always pushing her, driving her ever onward to hunt and kill and eat.
To stop is to die and it never stops.
It is always hungry.

Meet the Author

I live just outside Raleigh, North Carolina. I've only been professionally published once, in last fall's edition of Flashquake online magazine, but I hope it's the start of something long term. I'm happily married, and I'm the father to two beautiful little girls, ages five and two, who will never be allowed to date boys, drive cars that are transporting boys, nor ride in cars to places where boys are present, or wear non-Amish-spinster-approved clothing in front of boys. I love horror movies, rhythmic noise, peanut butter, and the Munsters, not necessarily in that order. Please feel free to contact me if you want; I'd love to hear what you thought of the book. My e-mail address is zombieapocalypse at earthlink.net. Thanks for reading.

    Good. Sounds familiar though.

The predator playing with its prey prior to finishing it is seen in nature, and sometimes people. This story has some basis in reality. Admittedly, that is why I read it.

The way the lead female toys with the male was too harsh for my sensibilities. Making him feel special at first, then stupid. Finally, he ends up feeling like a desperate loser that does not deserve her. She did not have to break him first, but she did it anyway. That really disconnected me from the story.

The ending was expected. The moral is: if she talks like a psycho, and walks like a devil in prada, you should run far far away if you value your own life. Or more simply, if it seems too good to be true, then it is probably not for real.

This can be an interesting plotline for author's to twist and play with, but it seems familiar. I am fairly certain I saw something like this on one of those old horror shows from the 80's or 90's that rerun on the Chiller channel during the day. Maybe it was "Monsters" or "Tales from the Dark Side" or that really violent one with David Bowie as the host. Perhaps, "Masters of Horror". I am not positive, but it is odd. I will leave it up to others to debate. I am just introducing a topic for discussion.

    read it again...

still hate it. but I know why it's short now (it's a short story duh! lol). so, I still hate it, but misgivings aside, isn't that what horror's supposed to be? 5 stars... let the ripple grow into a wave.

    Dirty prey

A good short story with a few pornographic scenes, but the main story is the terror of a predator toying with the prey until it is time to feed.
