    A Great Horse-Lover Book

Alec Ramsay is in great need of good, responsible men to help him on the farm. A pretty young girl shows up and suprises Alec. She is great with the horses, and so Alec hires her. Henry is definetly not pleased! The Black is doing great racing, but when he gets disqualified, Alec can't race him to win $10,000 dollars in a very famous race. When Pam asks to ride The Black in the race, after having a very tragic end with her favorite, Black Sand, Alec is reluctant. Then he gives in and Pam races the Black. This book was exciting and I encourage horse-lovers to read the black stallion series!

    Prey post by Honeypetal/Skystep

A flock of baby sparrows flutter down. Their mother flys down beside her five babys. The little ones peck at the ground trying to find food. Their mother looks around. She knows that this day might be her childrens last. -Skystep/Honeypetal

    A reviewer

The book was written shortly after the sudden death of Walt's daughter. It was around this time he wrote other 'dark' stories in the Black Stallion series -- such as the Black Stallion's Ghost. In my opinion - his stories were never the samea after the death of his daughter.

    Outstanding if you like horses

The Black Stallion and the Girl, by Walter Farley is about Alec, a jockey, who hires a girl to work at the farm. The problem is that Henry, his horseman, doesn¿t believe in having girls work on a farm. Henry says that if Alec doesn¿t fire Pam then he will quit. I think the author¿s purpose for writing this book was to say, it is okay to move around and try different things. I inferred this because Pam doesn¿t like to stay in one place to long, she like to ¿move on¿ as she calls it. I also think the author wants to tell the reader that you should enjoy what you love while you have it. I inferred this because Pam and Alec fell in love and then Pam moved on. I think this is the message the author wanted to get across. I liked this book because it never gave you the answers until the end of the book. It always kept you in suspense. You didn¿t know if Pam was going to move on until the end of the book.

    Exciting Book!!!!!!!

The Black Stallion and the Girl is a very good book. When a pretty girl answers Alec's ad for an experienced stable hand, he is a bit surprised. Petite, gentle, and free-spirited, Pam is not exactly what Alec had in mind for the job. But her easy way with horses wins Alec's respect and the job. But Henry is not easily convinced. The trainer is a member of the old school of horse racing, and he firmly believes that girls have no place in the business. And because he is a part owner of Hopeful Farm, his opinion counts. Will Alec be forced to choose between the girl who's won his heart or the horseman who's always had his trust? This a great book and very exciting. I strongly encourage you to read it.
