Walter Farley's first book, The Black Stallion, was an instant hit when it appeared in 1941.     She ran past the clan cats that were hunting, they looked up and one ordered "After her!" She ran, panting when suddenly a fox appeared she cried for her mate and for help "Tiger! Help!" She was panting as her stomach started to ripple even more powerfully she would die, for certain she thought 'Oh no! Im sure to die, either by that fox or that stupid prophecy.' She heard a cat call her name, her heart lifted and she raised her hackles, her fur puffed up as she hissed to the cat "Tiger! Im so glad your here! Um... can I have to tell you why I left, its because-" she was interupted by Tiger "I know, you were expecting our kits. I was furious at first but now, I think its worth a try to be a father. Whats the worst that can happen? Me being a terrible father? Well, I want to try for you. But I'll take care of the fox," he grunted and then leaped at the fox and as he did the fox turned and ripped his throat open but as it happened Tiger had managed to kill the fox by clawing a deep unhealable wound. Soon he stopped breathing and whispered "I love you Berry, and I will watch you and our kits." With this he layed still. Tiger was dead. "No! NO! This can't happen! The phropecy didn't say anything about Tiger dieing! It only said that I would die unless Tiger accepted the fact that I was expecting kits!" She cut off, her belly ached and cramped like crazy. She sure felt like dieing when the clan cats caught up and a white she cat said "Oh, Im so sorry. " the she cat fell silent her eyes shone worry as she looked at the ripples that were going through Berry's swelled and rather large belly. The ripple became stronger, like waves. The she cat cried out in pain and collasped panting hard. "Please help!" She begged the clan cats. The clan cats looked at each other and then answered....to be continued!
    Please rate and tell me which clan you think she should try to join and I will include that in her story as well as have her go join that clan.
    (Yes, Im making Berry a real cat. How many kits should she have? I want it too be a rather large litter but still be not outragous like 10 kits. Please tell me if you think 7 or 8 is too much. Thanks!)

    I LOVED IT!!!

    This is a great book. When I bought it, I couldn't pick wether I wanted it or another book, but i'm so glad that I picked this one! The last race is so good, you feel like you in it! You'll love the ending and the whole book!

    Farely doesn't disappoint!

    This is a wonderful book! It's a very realistic look into the life of a jockey. I reccomend it. Check it out!

    The Black is back to racing!

    When a barn fired destroys an uninsured barn, with Black Minx an unsure bet, Alec and Henry reluctantly bring the Black back into the racing circuit to rebuild the barn before winter. Racing enthusiasts around the country can't wait to see the stallion back in action, but the handicappers can't keep the weight off his back, even though evenly matched with Eclipse and Casey. The ride of his life is in the Brooklyn Handicap with hands down who has the better horse.

    Fox Scent...

    A bright redish orange fox scampered through the forest, careful to blend with the surrounding brush. Its brown lwgs and white tail tip flashed silently near the sleeping mice. With little effort the shefox snatched the creature into her mouth and bounded off to its den, which is somewere on HorseClan territory....

    Kills a prairie dog and lays it on the ground. When the hawk dives for it, she claws its wings neatly into shreds and snaps the bird's neck. She proudly carried the prairie dog and the hawk to the freshkill pile.
