This author knows how to hold your attention. This book has it all. From young to old characters, serious to funny plots, and plenty of suspense. Some quotes from the book I really loved: Its eyes glowed a violent blue. We look like fugitives from a fancy spa... Laughter is now bouncing around like a super ball out of control. I'm crocheting a pony to the sounds of murder. And many more... I do recommend this as an adult book, but not elementing YA. Changing from characters and scenes transition smoothly, making it an easy read. This book has a twisted ending, I didn't see it coming at all. I will be watching for more work from this author. :)

I loved this book. It starts off about two women mushroom hunting and they have to help out some turkey hunters lost in the woods. A creature is living in the Black Woods and they go in to find the hunters. I was spooked at times by this story and will read it again. Thank you for such a great story. I can't wait until this author writes something else.

Best book I've read in a long time. The two older ladies are great characters. This is an easy read book, with lots of good plots!

I couldn't make it past the first couple chapters due to spelling and grammar errors. I realize it doesn't bother some people but it drives me nuts. I can't concentrate on the story when I'm rewording things in my mind.

I know others praised this, but I just can't. The writing is very amateur, and the editing is horroble - so many typos. The story is pretty basic, and unless you are a mushroom hunter who enjoys hearing about mushroom hunting adnauseum, not worth the time to read it. The characters were poorly drawn, and stereotipical - dumb yokel boys going hunting, drinking and cussing.

This book is unusual. Mushroom hunting and turkey hunting set in a mystery around the "Black Woods". I've never read anything like it! I hope the author makes a sequeal :)

Really????? Did anyone read this book before it was distributed???? So many typos and punctuation errors. Liked the story but the errors were far too many in number.

This book was great. Yes it's about mushroom hunting, the first line told me that. That's why I grabbed it. This suspense holds the readers attention. I love the ending!!!

The story is great, keeps you interested. Read it in under a day because I couldn't put it down. Had a hard time over looking the poor editing, and wasn't wild about the ending but overall the story was quite captivating!

If you love suspense, then this is for you. This book will grab your attention from the start. It builds the characters brightly. The two main characters are older ladies who are sisters. The personalities of these women call to the reader. I laughed, and yes, even cried as I read this story. The four boys who come to the woods to turkey hunt are down right hilarious. Wow, this is a refreshing read from an indie author.

Very poorly written. Bad sentence structure, very stilted conversations. Interesting concept of monster in the woods, but too fragmented. Kept jumping between the middle-aged mushroom gatherers and a group of college guys. Not worth the time...only good thing was that I DIDN'T pay anything for it!

The story would have been a real page turner, but it was bogged down with too many typos and grammatical errors. I usually overlook things like that but nearly every sentence switched tenses midway, sometimes more than once.

I would have given this book 4 1/2 stars but thats not possible here. I really would have loved to give it 5 star if not for some typos. I find them very distracting. Otherwise this was a page turner seating on the edge of your seat kind of book and the ending was quite unexpected. Thanks for taking the time to write it. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Even as a free book I found it lacking. I read it because of the great reviews but it took FOREVER to get started and really dissapointed in the end. I hate to invest so much time in a story then it have no real ending. Wish I had just skipped it!
