All Music Guide - Maria Konicki Dinoia
This impressive ten-song compilation is an earnest debut full of lots of promise and originality. Shelton delivers a wealth of traditional country music in its most honest-to-goodness form, with his young, delightful cowboy-esque charm. The Oklahoma-bred Shelton sure can fire off a tune with the sincerest tenacity. Notables include "Austin," a tremendously imaginative song about getting back together with someone by leaving messages for one another on their answering machines; "I Thought There Was Time" about neglecting a relationship; and "Same Old Song" about an artist looking for some originality in country music today. Along with producer Bobby Braddock "He ...

    Austin.. Great Song

Mr. Shelton has a major hit on his hands. Austin is a song that makes you stop and listen. The first time I heard it I kind of just let the music go by. The second time I really listened to the words. This song has touched me and I love it. I have been a country music fan for most of my life, and this is one of the only songs that has really made me feel this way. I will most definately buy this album and tell everyone who will listen to do the same. I look forward to more hits from this man.

    Gorgeous voice!

Yeah, the song Austin is absolutely wonderful, the first time I heard it, I trembled because , well, I am a romanticist and I loved the ending and the faithfulness of the man! But, the most impressive part of the song once you get past the beautiful lyrics and the tune is Blake's VOICE!! It is wonderful and I have been searching the sites for his album from the first day I heard Austin (to no avail, of course). Now I see the CD will be released on the 31rst and I am ordering it as soon as it is available. Great job, Blake, your mom has to be proud of you, smile. It's hard to review an album you haven't heard but I believe his voice will be the winner on any tune he sings.

    Blake is Awesome!!!

When I first heard the song Austin on the radio, I wondered to myself,'' who is this guy, he sounds great!! '' Then I found out who he was, checked out his website, and I am hooked!! From Everytime I Look At You, to If I Was Your Man, the whole cd is awesome!! If you haven't already, check out his official website, and the great message board. You'll find me on there as CdnBlakeFan. Oh, and be sure to join the fan club too, it's well worth the money!! Jules

Blake is going all the way to the top

Once I heard his famous #1 song, ''Austin'' on the radio, I was hooked. Once I saw him in concert, I was amazed. Once I heard his CD, I just HAD to buy it. His songs touches everything in life, and sings them with such emotion. He has some upbeat tunes and ballads. There is something for everyone on this album. If you love the traditional sounding country music, I recommend one CD and that is BLAKE SHELTON!!!! This album is a huge smash hit to country fans all over and a must for country lovers.

    Blake Shelton

This is a really good CD. The single off of it is Austin, an excellent song that still makes me cry after hearing it over 20 times. The rest of the CD is pretty good, nothing beats his first single thoug.
