    Mostly photos; little text

It's a shame there isn't more text to bring alive the rich history of NY's 'blank gen'. Some interviews or remembrances would have helped to illuminate this wonderful moment. Without such text, you really need to know the scene (beyond Richard Hell... to the quite obscure people), to really appreciate the book. Otherwise the book feels a bit like photos from great parties you wish you had been to. Maybe Gary Valentine's forthcoming book can serve as a guide to these photos.
