Ms. Eden had brought out the inner rock star groupie out of me. ~Under The Covers Book Blog

Ms. Eden had brought out the inner rock star groupie out of me. I was pleasantly surprised with Ms Eden's work. She did a fabulous job with this first installment of Reckless Beat series, bringing in a hot rock star hero and a plain Jane heroine together to get the happily ever after they deserve.

Alana Shelton's story is every woman's fantasy. After having a sheltered life, she is ready to find the world on her own by going to a Reckless Beat's concert! How fun, right? Well, Alana finds herself in the middle of a concert with lead guitarist Mitchell Davis taking total interest on her. And here's were my fantasy comes in, Mitchell spots her from the crowd and stares at her while he plays. I must have nearly passed out reading that scene alone. Mitchell, on the other hand, is the total opposite of Alana. Obviously, he's a total hottie with a bigger than life back ground. He wasn't a play boy but being on the band gave him his share of wild moments. When he sees Alana, he knows something is different about her. She is plain as they come and that just caught his attention.

I love Alana and Mitchell's love story. It is a classic rock star romance, where plain Jane captures the heart of a rock star. I love the courting between them, though it was in the fast lane, I felt the romance was real enough...in my head anyway. These two had very steamy scenes together, in and out of the bedroom. They even ventured into a mild exhibitionism/voyeurism but very hot! Well hell, who wouldn't want to tame the sexy guitarist and have him beg for your love? Mitchell will do just that and give Alana experiences of a lifetime.

Blind Attraction had me reeling and squirming during my read. Ms. Eden can write steamy scenes no doubt about that. She also brought in a good balance of romance and humor that made me laugh-out-loud. I am very excited about this series. Ms. Eden did a great job setting up for the next book. Blake I believe will be our next rock star and let me tell you; he has an open demeanor that will for sure give us an interestingly hot read.

This is my third book by Eden Summers, but this is the first one

This is my third book by Eden Summers, but this is the first one I have re-read two and a half times. I simply love her voice and writing style. Not only are her characters infused with a great sense of humor, they’re also real and easy to connect with. While her debut novella, Sneaking a Peek was full of sexy humor, and Concealed Desire was a little more serious with corporate sexiness, Blind Attraction veers off into a more emotional and vulnerable type of read.

There was never a dull moment with this story. Twenty-seven year old Alana starts off seemingly shy and shrouded in a sense of fragility. When the full force of Mitch’s attraction is directed at her, she shakes off her insecurities and decides to live in the moment, out of the shadows of her upbringing. Although Alana is visually impaired for the majority of the story, I felt that particular obstacle allowed for Mitch to believe in her interest and her advances. After all, the attraction was based solely on a few minutes of eye contact during the concert. It also seemed to help her open up without being able to see his expressions. His actions slowly obliterate everything she was taught to believe about men, and seeing her figure that out through making decisions for herself was sweetly satisfying.

Mitchell Davies is and isn’t the typical rock star hero. When we meet him, he’s at the point in his life where he has come to loathe the string of easy women who just want to be able to say they had bedded a rock star. He’s not ready to settle down, or so he thinks, but he longs to feel a connection to a woman who sees him for himself. Naturally when Alana doesn’t act like the typical crazy fan going all fangirl on him, he intuits that he may be onto something, and that just intrigues him even more. He has to know this woman. When an incident directed at him leaves her temporarily blind, old instincts rise to the forefront, and he just has to take care of her. Get to know her. And so begins their discovery of self, each other and truth.

This story was touching on so many levels. Alana makes a startling discovery about her past that threatens to leave her floundering for a sense of self. But Mitch is there to support her. The warring emotions between Alana and Mitch – not just the differences in their background or places of residence, but also the fact that Mitch would be willing to let her go so that she can spread her wings and fly. One can’t help but feel sorry for him and his misguided good intentions, but the ensuing dialogues between Mitch and his band mates, as well as between him and Alana showed the growth that they had undergone in the short time they were getting acquainted. Their bond may have started out as a purely sexual relationship, but through that they discovered so much more. And let me tell you, each and every encounter was toe-curling in its intensity. And the ending was a superb conclusion to their struggles to make things work. Alana learns empowerment and Mitch learns that he deserves to have it all.

A touching plot, great dialogue and humor, and toe-curling sex —if this was just a taste of what is to come for the rest of the band members, I’m all in. This was the perfect hot romance for a hopeless romantic like me. I will be purchasing a print version in the hopes of getting it signed one day.

    **4.5 Stars**
Blind Attraction, despite revolving around the life of a rock star, is such a tender story of love blossoming between two people NOT looking for love.

Mitchell Davies *sigh* can come to my rescue anytime...just saying. ;) He is the lead guitarist of Reckless Beat and after years in the limelight, getting any woman he wants, he's rather jaded about relationships and love. Then one night during a concert, he spots a beautiful, innocent and very non-groupie looking woman. And he senses something different.

Alana Shelton has led a extremely sheltered life. A life without any family, outside her mother...no father, no men at all. And she has been raised to believe that men cannot be trusted. On a rare trip away from home, at a concert way outside her comfort zone, she's drawn to an amazing pair of eyes. Eyes that seem to bore a hole through her soul. Eyes that make her wonder if maybe what she's always believed about men might be wrong.

Alana's trip to Richmond to visit a lifelong friend brings about several life altering events. Both of which leave her feeling vulnerable and it's not a feeling she's familiar or comfortable with. Especially the feeling of dependency on the kindness of Mitchell.

I love this story of the power of love - and all its redemptive qualities. I appreciated that fact that while there was an instant attraction between Mitchell and Alana, it isn't insta-love. Their relationship is allowed to progress naturally. I loved that Alana, although she was sheltered, is very independent, intelligent and wants very much to make her own mark on the world. I adored Mitchell, in all his self-doubt, being a gentlemanly hero...caring for Alana, protecting her, and wanting to do what is best for her. Even if it broke his heart. I enjoyed the coming together of these two souls who were bound together despite fighting it.

I also loved the cast of supporting characters, whom I know will be featured in future books in the series. Meeting all the members of the band was fantastic. I'm anxious to know more about Mason, Ryan, Sean...I even hope Alana's bestie Kate gets a book. But no one touched me like BLAKE! I'm very much looking forward to his story. He's a hunk of hot, tattooed goodness! ; ) He's kinda like the yang to Mitchell's yin.

Overall, Blind Attraction was a fabulous read. The story flowed well, and I think the progression of events was realistic. There are lots of steamy scenes but they're balanced with the sweet and humorous ones. My only complaint is that there wasn't much resolution for Alana's family situation. However, as this is the first in the series, I'm sure I'll get more Alana and Mitchell. And Blake!

I read this on a road trip to Richmond, VA and this book happens

I read this on a road trip to Richmond, VA and this book happens to be based in Richmond since that is where Alana Shelton goes to Reckless Beat's concert. (Coincidence...I think not...Hubs had a convention to go to and I found the opportunity to finally read the book) =)

Eden Summers you know how to write a book...my dear. I LOVED every part of this book and now I am officially a groupie of the band "Reckless Beat" even when they are fictional.
My husband kept given me the strange eyes and asking me why I was constantly smiling/giggling while reading on the trip to Richmond. Oh...if only he knew. I could not share with him what I was reading due to little ears listening at the time in the car. This is not a book you share with your children around.

Alana Shelton has lived a sheltered life and when she meets the sexy guitarist, Mitchell Davis for the first time, she is about to find out what she has been missing out on. She was taught by her mother that men are not to be trusted, but Mitchell proves her Mom's theories wrong. Mitchell takes care of Alana due to an incident he put her in. He has never felt this way with a woman before. The minute Mitchell spots Alana in the crowd in front of him, while he is performing, he is determined to meet her. There is something about Alana and he feels maybe if he has one night with her, she will get out of his system. Unfortunately...he never expected what happened to happen.
His band mates are even telling him that he should not just walk out of Alana's life due to his possessiveness and love he keeps showing for her.

Mitchell...what can I say about the sexy guitarist, who stole my heart the minute Eden described him...he definitely won my heart. He was very protective and caring of Alana. He even took it slowly with Alana at first and it was Alana, who wanted more.
Alana was such a sweetheart. She had no idea who to trust after she found out certain lies that came to surface. I would have reacted the same way she did.
Blake...is one character I want more of. The scene between him, Mitchell, and Alana would probably have some people reacting differently, but he was such a sweetie to Alana and he busted Mitchell several times. He literally got Mitchell to realize what would happen if he walked away from Alana.
I want more of Blake. He definitely deserves someone to love.

Eden did a fabulous job on the first book to the Reckless Beat novels. I loved page in this book and the steamy scenes...let's just say I wish I would have not read on a road trip. I needed a cold shower after several of the scenes. One in particular between three characters. Oh boy!!! That is the scene where my husband caught me smiling like the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland.

I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to contemporary romance readers and readers who love sexy rockstars in their books. You will fall madly in love with the band members of Reckless Beat.
Just fair warning, I have dibs on Blake. =)

I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and I was not compensated for this review

"Feeling heartbroken is better than feeling nothing at all.

"Feeling heartbroken is better than feeling nothing at all."

This is a Rock Star Romance you will never forget! Mitch and Alana will capture your heart in the first chapter and never let go.

Alana Shelton has lived a sheltered life. Growing up in a women's retreat in Colorado with her mother, she didn't know much about the real world, hell she has never even been to a concert! Who knew attending her first concert would change her world forever. Mitchell Davies was your typical Rock Star. Sexy as hell, popular with the ladies, and knows how to use his fingers.....on the guitar of course! *winks* When he notices the green eyed beauty in the front row, he HAS to have her!

"What is it with you, Allie? Why can't I take my mind off you?"

Blind Attraction is book 1 in Eden Summer's Reckless Beat series....and I already can't wait for the next one! The moment these two locked eyes on one another there was an instant attraction, and I just LOVE IT when that happens. Me, I am a HUGE fan of emotional reads, and this one had me going. The author did an amazing job expressing these emotions through her characters. I felt the vulnerability and the strength from Alana when she was experiencing a lot of "firsts" in her life. I felt the warmth and the lust from Mitch when he was around his Allie.

"I can't take a single breath without wishing I was touching you."

Ok, let's talk SEX SCENES shall we?! This story had one of the most erotic, sensual sex scenes I have read in a long time. So HOT in fact, that I had to read it over and over again! The scenes were intense and tender, beautiful and passionate. I wanted it to go on and on. Nicely done Eden, nicely done.

"I want to take my time. .I want to taste you, savor you, and have you fall asleep in my arms."

Not only did this story have me blushing, but it had me quickly turning the pages to see what happens next. You get pulled in to these characters lives and you start to feel protective over them. Of course, I wanted to smack Mitch upside his head sometimes, and of course he is going to screw up badly...he is the "hero" in a romance novel for cryin' out loud, but that didn't change the fact that I was rooting for these two the entire time. Not only do we get steamy love scenes and heart pounding drama...we get hilarious comic relief from some of the other band members, including Blake and Sean. Let me tell you, some of their one-liners had me laughing out loud on mulitple occasions. I have high hopes for those two!

This is my second read from the amazing Eden Summers and she just gets better and better. Keep an eye out for her everybody....she is going to be one to watch! No pressure my dear! *snicker*

Alana is sheltered. Mitchell is a rock star. When Mitchell zeroes in on Alana she does not know what to do. She is leery around men because of her upbringing. When an accident puts her in an extremely vulnerable position Mitchell vows to take care of her as he feels it was his fault. Besides he wants her all to himself and will stop at nothing to have her.

Alana has trouble believing that Mitchell wants her. She thinks she is a burden to him. How can he prove that he does want her and can’t stand being away from her? He is extremely possessive of Alana and does not like her spending too much time with the other band members.

Love the side characters in this story the dynamic between the band members keeps the upbeat and funny. The boys are not used to a girl being around for the long haul and try in their own way to make Alana feel welcome into the group.

When the band must move on with the tour will Mitchell stay in touch? Or will he leave her thinking she was just a distraction to him during the time in town?

I highly recommend this story. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

3.5 stars - I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Alana has lived a sheltered life on a woman’s retreat ran by her mother that taught her that men could not be trusted, so she is rather naive in her dealings with men, and I know she was injured but would a girl brought up so devoid of male influence really trust a guy that quick?
The way this book starts with Alana and Mitchell's 'Insta-Love' was a bit quick for me, but in the end this book is FICTION so I decided to just read the book for what it is, a Rockstar Romance.

Mitchell is HOT sexy lead guitarist with Reckless Beat a popular rock group.
He has a rep as a typical man-whore with a line of groupies willing to hop into his pants!
BUT - he's jaded with the whole 'Rock star lifestyle' and when Alana attends a gig with her friend Mitchel spots her in the front row.
During the band's break he sneaks up to her and asks her to meet him later. But later when an accident causes Alana to go blind Mitchell feels responsible takes care of her.

So, I did get into this story, Mitch is a nice Rock star, and he really takes care of Alana, and the other band members are interesting too, and the surprise meeting in the coffee shop leads to some interesting discoveries, and I guess we will learn more about them in the subsequent books.
The book has a some erotic scenes in it, and it was interesting to read how the author interpreted Alana's lack of sight into the equation.

I also liked how the other band members treated each other as a family, and I will look forward to seeing what Ms Summers has in store for them all.

This is the first book I've read by Eden Summers and it won't be the last. She has a nice writing style and I loved all the characters in the story.

Alana Shelton has led a very sheltered life. She's been home schooled and lives in a women's retreat (for abused women) with her Mom who owns it and is very strict and against the male population. Her Mom has told her that her father died and there aren't any other family members but she finds out that isn't completely true and that her Mom has lied. Alana has only one true friend, Kate, and they go to a music concert.. The Reckless Beat Band are famous and rich. Alana sees Mitch (Mitchell Davies), the guitarist and finds him very attractive. Mitch is so tired of all the floozies and groupies at the concerts but he notices Alana and knows she is not one of them but someone special. Due to an unforeseen accident, they are thrown together and they fall hard for each other. However, Mitch doesn't think he's good enough for her especially with all the traveling the band does.

Will these two lovers ever get together especially with Mitch thinking like he does and from being from such two different worlds? They are a good match for each other and I love how the story evolves. There were hot and sexy love scenes, a lot of fun and humor in this story. I just loved all the band members-they were so much fun and I hope there will be more stories on the other members. I highly recommend this book and you should put it on your TBR list.

This book was a gift from a dear friend(.BO)

WOW! First of all, I am SO excited that Eden is writing another book in this series. All of the band members are so likable, nay, LOVABLE (and hot), and I would love to know more about what happens not only with them, but with Allie and Mitch as well.

The "affliction" Allie suffers is really unique, and it was very refreshing to read an unusual story line (I'm trying SO hard not to spoil anything!). I will DEFINITELY be reading Passionate Addiction (Reckless Beat #2) when it gets released.
