Overview

Tarell's story is one that couldn't have stayed hidden. He was both humbled in the sight of God through his innocence and abused in the blindness of many in their own ignorance. This story will evoke emotions ranging from sadness to joy, while making you laugh in between. In a world where movies and literature reign supreme, Blind Innocence offers a unique story that has yet to be portrayed, offering a refreshingly, new journey through the life of a troubled adolescent. Tarell is mentally challenged and has been through a lot in his young life, suffering abuse from both his biological mother and his adoptive mother, women in general, and society. Just when it appears as though things are finally starting to look up for Tarell, who after meeting his biological family, all hell breaks loose. What started out as a dream quickly becomes reality, and soon, it all turns out to be a nightmare.

Then he meets Debbie, a young girl who, among all the other women he came across, has a heart filled with compassion and sorrow after hearing his story. Debbie talks her mother into taking in the homeless Tarell, but more drama erupts when Debbie's mother, a conniving, Christian woman, uses his mental disability against him in order to pacify her insecurities, causing him to endure even more mental and emotional damage. But as they say, "What doesn't break you will only make you strong."

Blind Innocence shares a poignant glimpse into one man's life as he faces seemingly insurmountable odds and slowly tries to create a meaningful life.

After everything Tarell has been through, will he be broken, or arise, victorious and strong?

This is a book for everyone. Written with an urban background, this story could have taken place anywhere. The main character, Tarrell, is a unique combination of strength and innocence. We can see ourselves in both his everyday trials and his poignant interactions with the many other characters in the book. 'Blind Innocence' helped me appreciate how lucky I am and how others cope and overcome life's more serious trials. 'Blind Innocence' is a book you will want to buy for yourself, your family and friends. I loved reading it.

with my BUSY schedule i dont have much time to read. I have tons of book sitting on my shelf. I brought Blind innocence because of all the GREAT reviews i been hearing about this book. I pick the book up and began to read it in betwween my busy routines and i literally finished the book in a matter of 4 hours. This story touched on so many different issues of life. A child born with a mental disability, having to deal with so much abuse even into adulthood. A mother dealing with a drug addiction. A praying\loving grandmother trying to do all that she could. Oh my goodness,it just brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. But over all, this book brought so many different emotions. Laughter, tears, joy, etc. i dont wanna tell the whole story, but this is definitely a 'MUST READ'!!! Author Alfreda Adams Jones really brought this story to life. I also have the soundtrack as well..I LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! My 7 year old says track # 7 and #8 is his favorite. What i love about this sound track is all the songs are 'POSITIVE' and all ages, beliefs, etc can listen to it and ENJOY it. GREAT job Author Alfreda Adams Jone. 5 stars for Blinds Innocence.

Just got finished reading blind innocence and it left me with a lot of mixed emotions about the way some people live their lives. It was a really good read and I could relate to the story because I work with people who have been abused and taken advantage of. We must remember that just because some if us suffer from mental illness we are all still human beings! Some are bipolar and some are mentally retarded and there are those who are schizophrenic etc etc. we live in a society which some of us are quick to judge another person or situation of someone from the outside...meaning not really knowing what kind of journey they've been on! There are some of us who have tons of family and associates but still feel alone and would turn to a stranger for assistance before turning to some one who they are familiar with for different reasons. We are all equal and we are all gods children! No one deserves to be judged unless it's by god and to my knowledge he doesn't judge anyone! I do not attend church on a weekly basis but I do believe in god! I pray and I thank him often! God is GOOD! I want to do like the book says and forgive, love and have peace!! Thank you Mrs. A Adams Jones

The book is a 10 star book. First, A. Adams Jones is a phenomenal woman for God. Second, she's an awesome friend. Her book put an impact on my life so much, I thank God that I was there from the beginning til the end. She's a true solider of the army of the lord, not a fake person of this world. The book is the truth, best urban book of the year. I am truly blessed to be her friend. The "Blind Innocence" book was joyful, tearful, and funny all at the same time... Can't wait for pt 2!!! Sister in Christ, Keisha Silver.

Was a book that was so enticing, and that managed to condense all the elements needed to grasp the reader's attention. I felt so engulfed by the story, that it would serve no justice for me to attempt to describe it with words. Hands down the perfect book. Looking to seeing it come to film Brenda Jennings

This book was excellent, I enjoyed it so much til I ended up reading it twice, I cried both times as I was reading it. It was sad but very inspiring, I was so into the story i hated for the story to end, it's crazy because when i read it the second time it was like reading it for the first time and it had the same impact on me even then. Definitely a five star book, I could not put the book down.

This story is an emotional, fast paced reader that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I read the book during the time I spent in prison and out of all the books that I have read during my time there, I have never came across a story like this one, a lot of the books that came across my path while there was mainly street stories, and at first when I started reading blind innocence, in the first few chapters it appeared to be another street story, but as it continued to unfold it took another turn, I was feeling that. The author definitely knows how to keep the attention of readers, this book was not predictable at all and covered a lot of things dealing with life. (Can't wait to read pt 2)

Read the book and had the pleasure of hearing the audiobook. I think it was very well written and the constant emotional and sometimes physical drama, kept me interested as I found myself  on a roller coaster of ups and downs in this poor guys life. Gives you another perspective on a matter very seldom lay told. Good all around job!

I'm not a person who reads books but this story caught my eyes. when I started reading the book I couldn't put the book down. I like it because although it's said to be fiction, its reality, it's real life stuff. To those that don't like reading books believe me when I tell you this is a book you will fall in love with. Even when I picked the book up and read the description of the book it drew me in and I had to read it. This book is like a movie where like when you watch a good movie how you want to watch it over and over. You will not be disappointed when you read this book. And to the author of this book, you did a fantastic job, the book was very well written. I just have one question... when is the next book coming out???

I thought the book was excellent, it's a heart felt story that anybody can relate to. Even being a man your emotions will be challenged while reading this story, It will touch the heart of even a man. It was some scenes that had me tight, but then some I have to admit that bought a lil sadness. This book was definitely a page turner.

This book was very captivating from beginning to end.  It seeks about many of our young people trails and tribulations that are unspoken but so real.  I really enjoyed the characters throughout the book and could relate to them.  This was truly a book about real life situations and daily struggles.  Keep up the good  work.  Job well done.  Terri W
