Ethan Decker was a specialized hunter for a CIA Shadow Organization, working deep undercover to track down and capture ruthless international mercenaries and fugitives. Then a daring mission takes a lethal turn, leaving innocents dead in its wake, and Ethan's wife a prime target of a ruthless assassin. To save her, and because he can no longer justify his actions, Ethan exiles himself to a remote desert in New Mexico, a prisoner of his own guilt and grief.

Then one searing day, a former member of Decker's covert team arrives at his door, shepherding two children. She entrusts them to his protection and leaves without explanation.

Suddenly, the race is on: to reach his ex-wife before the deadly assassin finds her, and to unlock the mystery behind the two children--who have become pawns in a dark conspiracy so evil that even this former spy cannot imagine the peril that lies directly in his path.

. . . Lewin's taut thriller is filled with hair-raising car chases and complex double crosses.

Blind Run by Patricia Lewin is a fast paced read that had me flipping pages as fast as I could. Ms Lewin has provided us with a well written book loaded with amazing characters, suspense, action and a little heat. Ethan and Sydney's story is just creepy enough to make you think....what if. I enjoyed Blind Run and would be happy to read more from Patricia Lewin in the future. Blind Run is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Ethan Decker left the Agency and his wife after their son was murdered in an operation gone bad. He lives secluded in the desert of New Mexico, an area as dry, arid, and lifleless as Ethan Decker feels. Then one day another agent appears on his doorstep with two children whose lives are at risk from the same man who killed Ethan's son. When Decker's visitor is killed a few miles down the road, he is forced to flee with children he doesn't want to protect and ask for the help of an ex-wife he refuses to admit he still loves. Hunted by the police for murder and the assasin who killed his son, Ethan races from New Mexico to the mysterious Haven Island off the Northwest coast where the children had been imprisoned all their lives. But rescuing the other children held captive on Haven Island involves confronting the loss of his son, facing the child's murderer, and reliving the buried pain that caused him to abandon a life with the woman he loves. Fast-paced and exciting, Blind Run is a quick but suspenseful novel not to be regretted by readers who like works in the vein of Iris Johansen. With and second novel, Out of Reach, already out, and a third to be released in Dec. 05, Patricia Lewin is poised to become a sensation in the world of suspense.

Now, I'm not normally the one to read suspense books, however, Pat Lewin has begun to change my mind about the genre! This was quite the exciting book and I felt the characters' raw emotions and pains. I felt like I knew Ethan and Sydney personally and hoped for the best for Danny and Callie. Add the indepth characters to the great action scenes and you have one excellent book. After reading this, I plan on following the rest of Patricia's works.

This was a great read that kept me on the edge of my seat until I was finished. I don't get a lot of time to read so most books take a couple of weeks, Blind Run took me 3 days! I didn't put it down until I was finished!! It was exciting and thrilling, a highly entertaining read! Ethan was a great character, full of problems and pain, the portrayal of the character was so real and believable that I ran right out and bought Pat's second book Out of Reach and I'm highly anticipating her 3rd book due out in December! Read this book, you won't be disappointed!!

Pat Lewin's first suspense novel is suspense at its best. I had read her second (Out of Reach) before reading this one. Both kept me on the edge of my seat, and with my nose stuck in the book for two days until I had read right though, but Blind Run comes out a little ahead for me. The characters draw you in right from the start (women, you will wind up with a big crush on Ethan Decker!) and Lewin's style of writing will keep you guessing through the whole book. To me, a good suspense novel is one that has me tempted to peek ahead to the next page or chapter to find out what's coming, and Blind Run did just that! It is written in a way that is easy to believe, to wonder if something like this could really be going on, without being show-offy and trying to impress the reader with explanations that no average person could understand - a big turn off in suspense novels for me. It is obvious that Lewin did an extensive amount of research on the plot of this book. A wonderful first novel!

BLIND RUN is a fast-paced, page-turner filled with more twists and turns than a country back road. The novel centers around an ex-CIA agent, Ethan Decker, who walked away from his career after his young son is killed. Now, three years later, still living in utter agony, another agent under diress leaves her two children in his care. Without giving too much of the plot away, Ethan, rejoins with his ex-wife and the two kids in an attempt to keep them all safe. Along the way, he faces his fears and demons from the past and sets to build a new life. There is plenty of mystery and intrigue to keep the reader guessing what's coming next and the author left an opening at the end to expand on the characters' futures. Ms. Lewin has a gripping writing style that draws the reader into the characters' lives. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Ex-operative Ethan Decker has spent the last three years in his own personal living hell. Because of his job, his five year old son was murdered, and Ethan blames himself. Ethan felt he had no choice but to walk away from his life--leaving his grieving wife, Sydney, who has no idea that her son's death was not an accident. Ethan now lives in the New Mexico desert alone, miserable, and drowning in guilt. Than to his disgust, Anna Kelsey another operative that he believed dead, shows up with two children. Anna says she needs Ethan's help to protect the children, but he wants nothing to do with her or the kids. Unfortunately, Anna is murdered possibly by the same man that killed Ethan's son. Now Ethan must figure out why Anna was running with the children and at the same time he must protect his ex-wife, who he is afraid is in grave danger. Of course, nothing in Ethan's life is easy. Sydney wants nothing to do with him, but for the sake of the children she is willing to stick around, for now. And the mystery surrounding the children is far more complicated than either of them suspected. They discover that before Anna helped them escape, the children were living on an island and being experimented on. And their are people that will do anything to get the two kids back and Ethan and Sydney will do anything to keep them and the other children on the island safe. Ethan is also starting to suspect that the agency he worked for is also responsible for what is happening to the children on the island. In the end, everything leads back to the island. Ethan just has to make sure that he can keep them all alive long enough to get the answers they need and than get them all to a safe place. He also wouldn't mind a second chance with his ex-wife. The first thing to get my attention about this books was the beautiful cover. The next was the characters. I loved the hero, Ethan Decker. The reader could 'feel' his pain at the loss of his son and the separation from his ex-wife. And, although I cared for Sydney I did not feel as if I knew her as well as Ethan, but that is not surprising since Ethan is the main character of the book and the story pretty much revolves around his actions. I also liked that the children played such an important part of the story, especially Danny and Callie. The book is fast-paced with a strong plot and a lot of action, suspense, and mystery. This is definitely a book that you will want to read cover to cover.

What a surprise. Do not consider myself a suspense reader, but I loved this book. Lewin keeps the characters and the story forefront, not the gore. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat, and will definitely be reading her next book.

This is the first of Lewin's novels that I have read. What an interesting story line , combining science , conspiracy , and somewhat of a domestic storyline into a very rapidly moving plot.

I read this book after seeing its great review in BookPage. What a great book. It's fast-paced with great characters -- I love the kids -- and so many twists and turns it kept me guessing. I ended up staying up really late just to finish. And the end was a total surprise! THis is an excellent first novel. I can't wait for Patricia Lewin's next one.

I appreciate Ms. Lewin's effort but it was sub par to say the least. There were too many unbelievable plot twists to make the novel enjoyable. Ms. Lewin should read Daniel Silva for a lesson on the genre. She certainly has potential and although I thought the plot was not believable, I still read the novel until the end. It was entertaining in an amateurish way, but not something that I would recommend anyone pay money for. The good news is that I have certainly read worse and may even consider buying her next novel in paperback.

This is a 'could't-put-it-down all night read' Ms. Lewin grabs you from the very first page and doesn't let go until the very last one, with wicked plot twists, 'WOW' surprises and fast paced action that has so much heart you fall in love with the characters! If you love good suspense, with lots of twists this is the book for YOU! Add Ms. Lewin to you 'must read' authors list!

From the first page Ms. Lewin grabbed this reader and took me along with the characters on their desperate "run" to save those special children. Ethan's family has already been destroyed. His determination to save his ex-wife and someone else's children is real hero stuff. Sidney has lost everyone she's loved and now has to trust the man she thinks ruined her life. The children are precocious yet adorable. And, the suspense is unrelenting. BRAVO, Ms. Lewin. I'll certainly be looking for your next book.
